just want to say thanks for the time at MATCHBOX 360 but could you deleate my account as i will not be entering any other comps/tournys with matchbox.the way in which the recent GOW tourny was organised was (in my own opinion) not fair.i personally believe that all teams should of played against each other without any byes.this would of given all teams a fair chance in a fair competition.i speak on behalf of myself and wish for this not to reflect on any other member of the xTUGx clan.thanks betts02 xTUGx.

Sorry to hear you're decision however I really do not understand your problem with it. You have had 2 fixtures arranged and only your teams performances can decide whether you win or lose. If you didnt win your fixtures then its a bit of a cheap dig to have a go at the tournament system. For the record giving byes when there is an uneven amount of teams is the only way to arrange fixtures in a tournament...sure we could have given everyone a fixture in the first round however you would still have been moaning when teams in the quarters and semis would have been given byes which really isnt fair (ie its unavoidable).

I wont be deleting your account as we have a new ladder and tournament system launching soon so hopefully you and your team will take part.

it was not a personal dig at you or any matchbox 360 team member mate,if we knew that we needed even teams then im sure we (xTUGx) or any other clan could of arranged another team to make it even then there would of been no need for any byes.if we win then fine and if we loose then yes we will probably have a moan but how this comp was organised was not fair in my opinion.the last tourny rules was perfect.or this could of been done by being all drawn out of a hat.these are your rules and yes we must abide by them but i will not be taking part in the gow tourny that is running at the moment and i will keep posted for future tournys.thanks and sorry if i offended any matchbox 360 team member or any matchbox 360 member.

The trouble is that we do "plan" out the fixtures and 9/10 times only 1 or 2 byes in theory are ever needed in the earlier rounds of any competition. The reason it all goes Pete Tong is all the players that register and then never turn up, No shows are the biggest headache for the MB Events and will continue to be.

As Kon touched on before, if you want to win the competition your going to have to be able to beat every team in the competition so what if they got a bye in 1 of the rounds they would still have to beat you to take 1st place.

Well I hope you stick around mate and take part in future events...however I still dont understand why you are kickin up a fuss as it is fair and you do have the same chance of winning as any other team. At the end of the day, we are running free to enter events for teams that wish to take, providing you with fixtures and prizes for the winners...all we ask ppl to do is arrange the fixtures then play and report results accordingly.

Our previous GoW comp was a Champions League format so no byes were required (ie group stage and knockout stage), however if we had done as you suggested then we would have had a similar situation to the RB6 tournament where there were 3 teams in the final basically cos we didnt give byes in the first round (the other option would have been to give one team a very unfair bye to the final!). Obviously things like teams not being active after registering cause additional problems for online events, however we are not psychic and cannot determine or predict which teams will drop out so we have to provide tournaments like the current GoW comp which is the only fair and balanced way of doing things.

Anyways, I hope you try to understand what I'm saying and take part in future tournaments :cool:
