Seeing as I'll be essentially single for a few weeks from next tuesday night, can anyone recommend a ds game for me to occupy my time with. I fancy a change from my usual games (ac:ww, pokemon, bust a move) but I'm not sure what to go for... bear in mind I am absolutely hopeless on anything that resembles a FPS...
Any ideas?
I would recommend Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright (1 & 2), Cooking Mama, The Brain Age games, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, Yoshi's Island.
Google those, if you're not familar with them, and if you've any questions i'd gladly explain them in more detail.
Personally though Jo, i'd recommend you have another look at Viva Pinata on Xbox 360. It's had some incredible new content, JUST released, that you really must check out. I'd say it'd give you easily a few weeks play through. One downside to that new content though, it's time limited, so you'd have to enjoy it, for the next month or so. I can't remember the exact expiration date, but I think you should make the most of the free content NOW! :) There's no better console experience than Xbox 360, maybe you should get back into it? :) :) :) :) :) :)

I had been tempted by the hotel dusk & phoenix wright games but not the brain training games & definitely not the cooking mama game
Nice try about Viva Pinata though... the only chance I'd get to go on the 360 is when the ginger one is asleep anyway, seeing as he's going nocturnal from Tuesday :p

Hotel Dusk is definitely good, very captivating. Phoenix Wright is not too bad either, a little slow at times though. Or what about Puzzle Quest?

**** that, buy an Xbox 360 and get on Halo 3.
Haha, well I tried!
Cooking Mama is surprisingly good fun, despite the stigma. I never expected to enjoy it, but it's all because of the touchpad...

Well i loved the new super mario bros. but I think you should download the new Viva pinata party animals demo just been released on the Xbox 360, it should keep you entertained for a least a month! Do it! Do it!
Ryan, she doesn't need a 360, she's already got one and a nice monitor to play in HD. :)

maybe I should just give playing halo another go.... ;) Just as payback for him not playing Super Smash Bros with me anymore... :D
There's a thought, its a shame you can't get Super Smash Bros for the DS, I would be able to find someone decent to play against then :p I'll just have to wait for Xmas....

She did try to play Gears and Halo, but apparently she just can't comprehend looking AND moving at the same time with the wiggly sticks.
She does however batter me on Super Smash Bros, with monotonous regularity :(

Late response but my personal recommendations would go along the lines of New Super Mario Bros, Castlevania, Elite Beat Agents or Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Some of these games aren't very new at all, but they're all enjoyable experiences and not FPS-style games.

I had been tempted to try Elite Beat Agents, I might get that one :)
