From what I heard, you'll get your house bricked. I don't think it's really worth possibly getting banned to have the game earlier, especially when you won't really be able to enjoy it.

You wont get banned, Bungie warned people in their weekly update not to view random peoples profiles on Bungie.net as they might contain pictures (taken in game) that contain spoilers. Reviewers also have copies so i don't think M$ will be able to distinguish who's a reviewer and who isn't.

Why would you get banned for playing a full release of game? It's not our fault a product has been made available by stores for sale.

From what I hear you can play the game, but the matchmaking facilities do not go online until the 24th. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it sounds correct.

There's been videos flying around the internet with people playing it on XBL in custom games etc, they havent been banned and i don't expect anyone to receive a ban from XBL because of this.

Mines paid for but I'm still picking it up. I remember having to wait an extra 4 or 5 days to play Ninja Gaiden when that was released on Xbox because of the mail and since then if I cared enough I'd get it myself.

Hopefully I should be getting my hands on this on monday but I don't really want to play it until I can enjoy it with friends (Whats that neyo? No internet, nevermind. SD split screen for you then). If online co-op turns out to be as good in practice as it is in theory I'd like to enjoy the campaign in co-op for the first playthrough so everything is fresh and we have no knowledge of things to come. As a unit.

I guess I'll just sit in the menu and taunt people or have a look around the maps.

Well I just got an email from gameplay stating that they are starting the picking order early to make sure it will be there for wednesday, if it all goes wrong though I am sure tesco's will have a few spares :/

Oh and just a note for anyone who has not recieved the email ordering from gameplay, if you were thinking of picking it up in store and cancelling they might charge you for it this weekend due to the picking process starting early.

Argh... That's awesome. I am on hold to my bank now. Can safely say if you want to call anyone who offers YOU a service, it'll be a very long day indeed. Called Microsoft Xbox team though, and that was fine.... THE only time anyone did have me on hold at least 30 minutes.

We do get quite a few calls from people saying they placed an order for a phone line and someone was meant to call them back, and no-one did...unfortunately with BT you have to do all the chasing to get something done. Best to keep bugging them.... :D

Just a quick tip...there is a way around sitting on hold for hours.

Basically how it works now is...when you phone up you will get through to Inbound Sales (who deal with existing customers and were I work)

You will need to get transferred to WLR3 Service if you have a VOL.... order number???

If not WLR3 Sales!

So basically once you get through to Inbound Sales ask to speak to a Manager straight away...if you complain enough he will get someone to call WLR3 then phone you back! And just because they're called Inbound Sales does not mean they cannot phone out...so don't fall for that crap lol! :D

I just got a phone call from gamestation saying my Legendary edition was in stock to collect....(i nearly jumped for joy until he said) on Tuesday at midnight or Wednesday if i couldn't make it. But he's put me down for the launch party they're having at gamestation at midnight so i should be home by 1 at the very latest. I'm not too sure how many people are coming but they guy told me to come in and trade in any games i want rid of before the party to speed things up.

I tried 2 stores and the same happened to me Kon :(. Was really close to it when i went to a Tesco Extra store near mine near mine, they had these Halo 3 boxes out with a little printed circle on it saying 'Released 26th September' so i took the empty box to this woman at the customer service desk and played dumb, asked for it and she went looking for the disk, she didn't mention the release date at all, she looked through all the draws and couldn't find it, their was one draw that she couldn't get into (i suspect it was in there) and she didn't have the key to it (i reckon the manager has that), she did give me a phone number to ring today and a reference code though :D.
The other store just had nothing on the shelf at the number one in the chart thing, i asked anyway but the woman couldn't find the disk, might go again later today and ask a man to go looking for it :p.

I had thought that the Collectors Edition would be a sweet tin box like Dead Rising or Bioshock but it turns out its a chunky tin like the GoW one. Added to which the one I opened has a dent running along one side and the disc was upside down with a small scratch on it. Its so tacky, opens on both sides (one side for the pointless bonus disc) with nothing but a thin layer of card seperating the two sides.

When I finally make the transaction for it I may demand another copy and then change my mind and opt for the bog standard edition. We'll see.

On the Bungie podcast they were talking about how legendary would be too easy on Co-Op and that you should do something to make it harder in optoins or something don't know what though

"We dont send anything through the post over the weekend, but according to my screen your Halo 3 was posted today, but no matter whether it was posted Friday or today, there's still a good chance you will get it tomorrow"

Then I told him id booked tomorrow & Wednesday off work to play it, and I didnt wanna waste 2 days off if it aint gonna turn up, he said......
"If I were you, id still have the 2 days off because if it dont turn up tomorrow it should by Wednesday"

Box art on the normal editon is pretty pants, the back looks just like halo2's but with different pictures.

ive said it before, and ill say it again, you want the game a day early, you buy it from Gameplay, without fail, they get the game to you the day before release.

Shops aren't allowed to sell it but online shops can dispatch it so it delivers a day early with no penalty! Strikes me as kind of odd. Surely if they just dispatched them all a day later the majority of copies would arrive on launch day?
