Ok Guys, feast your eye's on this beast. Just bought gamesmaster's new issue with a halo3 special in it, and noticed something that caught my eye, well, how could i not notice this ! maybe you have seen this before, and if you have, why the hell did'nt you post it up !

anyway, this is one of the new vehicle's in halo3, its called the elephant and it looks ****ing insane ! has a turret on top and a mongoose parked inside that door you can see, and has room in the back for a warthog, basically a mobile base. Which could make custom games hella fun. no doubt slow and boring to drive, but LOOK at it ! its freaking HUGE!

Innes posted a download for the magazine a while ago, if I remember correctly.

Elephant looks awesome. I'd say it'll open up a wide range of tactics for players.

Heres a wiki for the halo universe, a bit more info on the elephant on there, seems theres a flag spawn point inside it, so flag games could become a little more interesting.

Aslo on the wiki theres a little bit more info on the scarab which, hopefully, maybe pilot-able and hopefully in multiplayer games also.

They really have gone to extremes for halo 3. Counting the days now.

Bungie have confirmed that there will be no Clan support in Halo 3. However, there may be an Xbox Live Dashboard update that supports clans.

It's been confirmed for multiplayer. The idea is have a huge map (desert landscape i think) and each teams spawn and have an elephant which is their base so the teams can move thier elephant to the other base and have no room for long flag runs etc.

I think it will only be on one big map. There must be limitations for Forge. And it's gotta be pretty slow... ;)

Nope, the one thing I'm aware of is that you can't place the elephant in forge mode.

Because the elephant is ****ing huge, it's too big to be of any use/fun on any but the largest of maps.

I really have little to no knowledge of Halo 3 multiplayer, having been away for most of the hype during the summer. Still don't know what that 'X' button was for, or how it'd drastically change gameplay. Did it turn out to be 'mute all Americans' afterall, or am I still going to be pulling up the blade, everytime I hit a public party?

no, X was to drop the bubble shield etc, SOOOOO amazingly revolutionary that one was.

But on a more relevant point there is a "hear only party chat option" so you can mute all the dicks that are most of the population of the USA.

Am I right in assuming that means you'd only hear the people who were with you, in the pre-game lobby? That sounds pretty nice. I do like speaking to new people, don't get me wrong, me and Jay play Shadowrun with team-chat quite often, but there comes a point where the team chat is just annoying little kids, typically Americans that as we all know, just ruin it.

I'd thought that "the elephant" (is it really called that?) would be ideal for those games where some ******* is sniping your base from his gay camping spot and you make the decision to move your base so he hasn't got line of sight any more. Hey presto, no more camping snipers. They have to pull up the pegs and guide ropes and move their tent to another location putting them in jeopardy.

I can't believe I knew about that and you guys apparently didn't.

neyo, there are quite a few options for muting people now. There is a main options screen where you can choose to mute everybody (thats my option apparently), mute only people on the other team (this does not include randoms who are not in your party but join your team and lets be honest a lot of the time they are dicks too) or leave it open. In the game you can hold down the Back button and select any name from the list and with one simple button press mute them (as opposed to choosing their name from a list, choosing mute, being brought to their gamercard, having to select mute again and then press the guide button to go back to the game again like in Shadowrun).

Don't make out like my preference for private chat on Shadowrun is because I'm some sort of social reject. Its because I don't like talking over people (especially a load of French guys) and even if you're not talking over someone else usually the randoms just do what they want anyway with the sort of disregard for team play that irks me.

Nope, its the mongoose, and its the human banshee. I would assume the brutes would use the banshee, as there still in single player and theres no more elites around.

Watch the vid, but stop it after the mongoose bit, as it shows some clip of the storie.

I see where I went wrong now. You made it look like you were talking about the vehicles in the video which includes a Hornet and a Brute Chopper. Since you couldn't mistake a Hornet for a Mongoose I assumed that you must of been talking about the Brute Chopper!
