Gamer Pics & Themes - Waste of Money?

Gamer pictures & themes: what stuff out there is good - what sucks - and what do you wish you could get that isn't currently offered? Are these things worthwhile, or just a waste of money? Or does it depend on the quality/content?

Do you guys have any interest in non-game GP&T content - scenery, pets, etc.? (See disruptivepublishers.com (http://www.disruptivepublishers.com) for examples.)

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

More film based and TV show orientated GP's is what i would like to see.

I'd say that it has to be something of interest if I'm going to spend cash.

Scenery and pets doesn't interest me although I'm sure certain gamers will disagree with me there. I personally like the Games and the odd TV/film themes.

Halo3 or GoW theme would be pretty mint.

I think these are quite like the Xbox 360 faceplates, pointless. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase them.

If you're looking to find sales then you need to be offering the correct content at the right time, around the world cup offer supporter pics and themes of the various nations competing, when games are launched that every one is hyping offer content for that game, popular television programs etc.

I certainly would not go near content that was not gaming or sport related.

To conclude, I see them as a waste of time personally and would obviously expect anything that would tempt me to part with my money to be of the highest standard.

Half assed anime chicks with their nawks out and pictures of other peoples dogs plus some holiday destinations.

I don't want to shoot you down but having looked it over I feel I need to comment and its all I can think of.

I just spent 80 gold on some Jolly Roger pictures, because at the time I thought it was a good idea.

I feel violated now.

I feel they're a waste of money, every now and then free ones pop up (and with the XBOX Originals where there's a free theme and picture pack for each game), and sometimes games give you them. Playing enough games and looking around can find you plenty.
