Yay, UK only! Plus, the rules seem pretty much spot on. Velocity Gaming will be there (we used to be Coaltion of gamers, cog alpha came 3rd last time).
I wont be playing due to holiday/uni, but im sure sum1 will be able to take over from me with almost as much success :P

Slight adjustment to rules:

- Each team will host 2 maps (ie swap home and away after 2 maps).
- The home team will host maps 1 and 3.
- The away team will host maps 2 and 4.
- The away team (ie non-host) will have choice of maps.

Even though this may mean the games take slightly longer with host swapping and creating new lobbies, it is the only fair way to do this over XBL as home team could have the upper hand with a 2-0 advantage based on host.

If i remember correctly firenza it was me who ended up organising and playing almost every single game with great success so im sure if im captain i can replicate it again. :p

Also may i suggest that the tourney is completed before Halo 3 comes out on September the 26th as im sure alot of people will migrate to it so organising games after that date could be an issue.

Also do you know what the prizes for the winners will be and if there will be runners up / 3rd place prizes. :D

There will be prizes for the winner only...choice of free game plus subscription to SwapGame.com per player.

We expect a lot of players to migrate to Halo3 obviously but would hope any teams registering to take part would honour their fixtures accordingly.

i think there shud be a prize at least for the runners up, a free budget game of ?25 or less for example but i guess that would depend on swapgame

funny you should say that because as soon as i had posted that i went to sign up to swapgame to check out the free trial but i didnt finish it coz i had to go so ill do it soon.

on second thoughts i might wait a while because theres no games coming out that i want to rent. ive already preordered bioshock for ?33 and got The Darkness of my mate for ?13 so im pretty much sorted atm. also theres always the possibility that when i get my 360 back from repair tommorow it might still be broken lol i hope not though.

also a runners up prize is kinda on a selfish note because if iG enter then given by their display at XL, i heard that they only lost 3 rounds, i reckon that they would probably win it, but i think we can aim for second place at least. Also have you any idea of how highly velocity gaming (previously Coalition of Gamers) will be seeded as we were the top UK team in the last tourney (obviously depends on who enters from XL).

one more thing, have you drawn up a chart of how this double elimination thing will work coz i dont really understand it tbh.

The seedings havent been fully calculated yet so cant give you a straight answer other than you wont be drawn against any other top seeded teams in the early rounds.

Double elimination is quite easy to understand but an arse to explain...basically you have another bracket consisting of teams who have lost in the first round with other losing teams dropping down into the bracket from subsequent rounds.

kk i get that it is split into two halves, winners and losers but what happens then. do we play it as two seperate tourneys or do they meet in the later stages?

Yeah losers from all rounds drop down to the losers bracket so they run parallel with each other...basically the second finalist would have always lost once already.

that seems a bit silly to me, coz theoretically the top 16 teams would be in the top half with number 1 coming out on top, and the 17-32 teams wud be in the second half with 17 coming out on top and it bein a 1v17 final when surely the way seedings work should make it a 1v2 final? and they way this would work is make it a 1v2 semi final.

that looks alot more confusing to me than my version did, i dont get why teams are in two halves of the draw and keep coming in without playing a game like at the bottom i dont get why st8 rippin (7) play final boss (1) twice at the end
