A Xbox 360 dashboard screenshot for the Call of Duty 4 Beta surfaced. The Call of Duty 4 Xbox 360 Beta is set to appear this month, although the exact date hasn't been announced yet. Would be a killer follow-up to the BioShock demo! The Xbox 360 dashboard screenshot shows the COD4 Beta download as 990 MB (prep your Xbox 360 HDD space if you're running low!) and reads:

"Congratulations on your entry into the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer public beta! This beta is just a taste of the full Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare multiplayer experience and features just a few early versions..."

It says that it will begin with only USA then will expand to other countries. To get into the beta you have to sign up to www.charlieoscardelta.com and then go to the beta section and click Enter when it is released.

you have to register to cod4's website
you need to be 18 and from the US unless it changes.
You then have to answer 3 questions about the game and you get a code to redeem to unlock the beta also the beta is 1.7 gig not 999 meg or w/s is in the pic.

On monday a ticker will open on the site and then most ppl are guessing that friday is when the beta opens.

The easy way to get it is if you've got an American account which I have so fingers crossed i'll be playing it in a couple of days.

EDIT: just checked my e-mails and I was sent a beta code. I tried downloading it with my main UK account and it worked :) So hope to be playing the beta very soon.:)

Update : After playing the beta for 6+ hours I have come to my conclusion that this game is a MUST buy. IMO it will be as good if not better than H3.

To setup a yank account, all I need is a one month trial right?

It just so happens I havn't used the free month MS sent me after repair yet, in theory I can use it to setup a yank account and play the demo, no?

You'll need to create an American e-mail first but unfortunately I think you can't anymore. Using hotmail it only lets you create a @hotmail.co.uk when you used to be able to create an @hotmail.com. You can still sign up and get into the beta in early September when it goes worldwide. I was just lucky enough to be sent a code with out having to do anything whatsoever.

I have registered on Charlie Oscar Delta, but havn't had anything come through about an invitation to the beta - is there anything I have to do other than register? Or, if I set up the yank account, will it then let me access the download and get to it?

I've set up an American account - so hopefully tomorrow I will be emailed a Beta key from Charlie Oscar Delta and will be able to play it. Problem is, I don't even know where to access it, because it's not in the marketplace anywhere...

Right. On the homepage there is a timer, when it goes down to 0 it means you are able to sign up for the beta using only an American GT. To sign up you need to go to the beta section at the top and then when the timer is finished you should be able to click on the sign up button.

Still 13 hours for you to wait.

Think that is what you are asked but im not sure. To get into it in the first wave you had to answer those questions although I got lucky and didn't have to do a single thing:) I think there also still sending out codes at random so you might be lucky and get one.

Yeah - Holland was to see my gf's brother, and it kind of got ruined because we had a phone call to say my nan had less then a week to live, and we still had 4 days of the holiday left... So this time it's a well-earned pool and beer holiday in Majorca :cool:

i got the beta, and it really is all that it was hyped up to be, brilliant stuff.

Storm the UK Beta! Brilliant.

It's quite simple to get actually. All you need is a willing friend on Xbox live who has won the beta. You simply recover their account to your Xbox 360 by entering their Windows Live information and then going to their download history and re-downloading the beta to your Xbox 360.

Sign out and let them recover their account back and voila! You have the beta on your Xbox 360 early.

Probably worth mentioning that some people are reporting having their Xbox 360 accounts banned for a month for playing the beta early, but it's not confirmed. If you do acquire the beta illegitamately then you're fully responsible for any banning you receive.

Doesn't work. When you try to enter the beta with your account it won't let you. The only way to do it is go onto the beta with the persons account which you have recovered then switch over accounts.

But this means that you have to stay on the beta non stop if you want to play it because when you quit it you can't go back onto it again without having the persons account who has the beta and do the same again by going into it with the persons account who has the beta and switching accounts.

Yup, there's no way around that as far as I'm aware - however you can switch accounts once the beta is fired up. Leaving your Xbox on I suppose is the only way really.

I got mine from doing the glitch.

Get the person who has the beta to recover your mates tag. Go to download history (on your account not his) , turn on a second controller, press guide button on it,then press X as if to sign in but dont. Then pick up first player controller and sign into the recovered tag. Click download beta (should do it really fast as its already on your HDD). Now get your mate to recover his account back, get him to go to download history then download it. Easy peasy.
