And Some HUGE TEXT spoilers (dont read if you dont want to know what happens)! (these arn't quotes, just basically tells you what happens)

Everyone lives happily ever after. Harry marries Ginny and has three kids. Ron marries Hermione. Snape becomes headmaster. Tonks and Lupin have a child. Draco lives, gets married, has a child named Scorpius. Neville becomes herbology teacher.
The characters used the time travel thing that hermione used in book 3 to go 19 years into the future.

I'm guessing Hagrid most likely. But still thats not exactly a major death is it?
Not long till we find out tbh.

If anyone cares, those pages are really the last chapter, well the epilogue.

As for people dying, none of the main characters do, but many others, including Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, etc. Plus Harry sort of dies, then comes back.

There are three big revelations regarding Snape, Dumbledore and Harry/Voldemort.

All in all the book's good, but I'm not too sure about the end, the last 50-100 pages feel a little rushed and the epilogue is ****e.

Anyone else read it?

As sad as it may sound...I read it too. Thought it was an excellent book and hopefully will be the best film when it is releases. This book probably has the most action in out of all of them and a hell of a lot of people die...I liked the bit about Snape though, always thought he was a bad guy...shows what I know lol.

Well the thread title has (spoilers) in it!

Just go ahead and tells us what happens, cat. That secret / twist or whatever.

That way none of us'll have to bother reading it ourselves :-D

The thread title has spoilers in it, people who care about the end shouldn't read this thread, simple.

Just to clarify, I very much loved the book and I think the end turned out nicely, bar the ****e epilogue.

Yeah but we had all read the spoilers, and they weren't definite. Then you come in minutes after harry potters release which you've obviously been speed reading because you're that keen and say "THE BOOK ENDS LIKE THIS". :)

Hate people that do that - it's like the people that speed through games just to say they finished it, then show off despite only experiencing a tenth of the game.

Cat - I don't even like Harry Potter, but it would be nice if you put it into spoiler tags for those of us who do. The page scans give away practically nothing.

The spoilers and pics are in relation to the last few pages, which reveal nothing. They are very minor spoilers, and if I was a HP fan I wouldn't mind seeing them, despite being spoilers. It's just courtesy not to reveal certain things, especially when the spoilers Cat blabbed are unrelated to the spoilers that the thread is about.

i put a summary spoiler thing up, that reveals alot, personally if you didn't want to know you shouldn't of entered.

Spoilers means spoilers. Theres no issue of 'it had to be relevant to everything posted before'. Tough luck if you didn't want to read them, it was your fault, no-one elses.

Pie - as explained, I don't give a crap about Harry Potter. I knew the spoilers in question were those of the last pages - I even asked for who dies (so I can tease my girlfriend about it), because the last pages reveal absolutely nothing. I still think spoilers should be enclosed in tags when they aren't relative to the thread topic, which only spoils the epilogue and absolutely nothing of the story.

Again - I hate Harry Potter and all things related. Just think it's a bit harsh on those that like it, because there would definitely be some fans that read the last 7 pages just so they could get some early HP action. I do think they deserve the spoiling, but also to choose which bits they want spoiled. 7 Pages isn't going to ruin the book.

Pie In The Sky
23-07-2007, 04:22 PM
I know what you're saying, but you have to be able to see that you're wrong on this one.

when they aren't relative to the thread topic

Thats what we are saying, it IS relative to the topic title, as the topic title says (SPOILERS). It doesnt indacte what the spoilers are going to be, for obvious reasons. Anyone who comes into the thread having seen the title of it must except that there are going to be spoilers inside, whether it be an epilogue or the whole book.

Saying that they were only expecting the last 7 pages means nothing aswell. Because before opening the thread how are you to know that the last 7 pages arn't going to include the major finale of the story? The last 7 pages could have included, say, harry getting killed or something.
Its not unfair on anyone reading. The title says there will be spoilers, there have been spoilers. End of.

True I suppose, the only 'evidence' supporting my point is that the very first post (and the one containing the spoilers according to the thread title) uses spoiler tags just in case. I agree with you, the pages could have featured more than they did, and entering a topic such as this you need to expect major spoilers. I'm not against posting spoilers, I still think spoiler tags should be used even if the thread is labelled (it's not impossible to enter a thread by accident).

KH Torrance

So true.

In the newspaper there was a bit about "is Harry Potter over-hyped?", and one woman wrote in saying she started reading it in the queue at the "midnight-madness" thing, before she'd even paid, and finished it six hours later.

I've never read a HP book all the way through, but that seems pretty quick. And reading from 12am to 6am, wtf?! Doesn't she have a day job?!

And another thing, it's such a waste, rushing through it. I refused to play beyond level two the day I bought Halo 2, because I didn't want the story over and done with so soon. There's nothing left to look forward to. Maybe it's just me.

People annoy me.

But LOL at 'Cat spoiling it, bless her. Can't help but laugh. Although if anyone spoils Halo 3 for me, I will hunt them down, melee them in the back then hump their corpse.

Um yeah, I'm not a harry potter fan. And likewise I didn't give a **** about the ending as I read the last page when my mum got the book anyway. All I'm trying to say is spoiler tags are there for a reason, innes's post said "last pages of the book spoilers". If the thread was called "Harry Potter discussion (spoilers)" I would have been happy for Cat to come in and say that. At least someone sees my point..

(Meh, sorry. This is Gaskin.)

Well if you entered a thread titled (SPOILERS) what were you expecting to read anyway? Regardless of them being in spoilers or not, you wouldn't enter a thread titled SPOILERS if you didnt want to read any spoilers.

Renegade
24-07-2007, 05:01 PM
Pirate, I really don't get what you're not understanding. We were expecting the spoilers to be the last 7 pages of the book, not the revealing of the whole story. NOBODY entered this thread and expected there to be no spoilers - everyone expected the spoilers to be only what was in the last 7 pages of the book, because of the thread title. I expected to see spoilers of the last 7 pages. I didn't expect to see the entire story posted without spoiler tags.

Pirate Balloon
24-07-2007, 05:03 PM
Well in any case, if you're okay with only seeing the last pages spoilers, then whats wrong with seeing other spoilers? Usually the ending is the biggest spoiler, so i dont now why you'd get so annoyed that you saw more than the ending ruined.

I dont get why you dont mind seeing the ending spoilers, but any other spoiler is bad. If you dont want something spoiled then you dont want ANY of it spoiled, surely?

Renegade
24-07-2007, 05:11 PM
Well for example, it's technically a spoiler to see that some of Halo 3 is set in a jungle - yet it doesn't really ruin any of the plot. The last pages ruined nothing, but gave some stuff away. All I'm saying is that even in a thread labelled 'spoilers', the spoiler tags need to be used - as I said before, it's possible to accidentally enter a thread.

Azure

I understand entirely Renagade. A spoiler is a spoiler. What Cat posted I would describe as a colossal wrecker :)

But it's Harry Potter, so I couldn't give a damn either way.

carocat

Collosal wrecker. Sounds just about right!

Effectively it's your own fault. If you actually cared about not wanting to know the end of Harry Potter you would've not entered the thread. And don't excuse it by some 'but it's only the last pages, bla bla bla'.

Spoiler is spoiler. ;)
