Yeah it is real, the devs confirmed it on some boards as being a "pre-alpha alpha" build.

But I call that BS, just wtf is a pre pre alpha build meant to be? Anyways the PS3 forums are hailing it as the greatest lookinh FPS of all time period dot fullstop end.

I think it looks like ****.

It's a prank by Guerilla. The pic is actually one of the devs zooming in via photoshop on a poster of a Hellghast in game - there is another pic where he is zoomed out, so that whole pic above is just a small poster texture in the real game. It was meant to be a trick by the devs so that they could reveal all in their E3 trailer, and nail all those people who said 'It looks like ****' to a crucifix. However, it was debunked almost straight away because it's a shocking photoshop job. Looks like they got you. Don't be so gullible Azure.

I am aware of the poster fiasco rumour and judging by the size of the laser dot I could go along with it - but until we know for sure this is all we have to go on.

It was absolutely, 100% nothing like the Getaway!

It was an FPS. The graphics were quite good but became quite stuttery in intense sections (the PS2 was pushed to the limit) but the gameplay was very shoddy. The AI was ludicriously bad, the the Helghast (bad guys) standing completely still and firing, or not even firing at all. The aiming was very loose and felt random, and the weapons felt weak and as though they were never doing anything. It was a poor game.

The reason people are hyped over KZ2 is because Guerilla always said that if the PS2 had been more powerful, they could have made the greatest game in existence. They said that the ideas they had just weren't scalable to the PS2 hardware - now with the PS3 they say it's something spectacular.

I wasn't referring to 'genre'. I was referring to whether or not Killzone ended up as 'The Getaway' did: a Sony game hyped to lofty heights and killed by the nasty fall.

lol, i noticed at work there was 5 ps3's locked away, and the wiis around them were pushed to the front :P and this is in morro's!
