Yeah this has been discussed a few times already, so just to confirm that due to the obvious problems with wireless pads they will noty be permitted at MatchBox360 XL and you need to bring...

WIRED PADS ONLY!!!

There will be a limited number of Xbox pads available for hire for Halo2, but we recommend that you bring your own 360 pads as we do not know if we will have any available for hire at this point in time.

MatchBox360 XL will provide all hardware including consoles, TVs and games...so its just pads you need to bring with you

Can you use a wireless pad with a play & charge kit?

No, wireless pads with a play and charge kit still act as a wireless controller even if the battery pack is removed.

Really don't see how that works.

Well Wireless pads are designed to be wireless. Plain and simple. Just because it's being charged up doesn't change the fact that they are designed to be wireless. Wired pads have no wireless capabilities whatsoever, so they cannot interfere with any of the consoles.

Bottom line is, Wireless pads with P+C kits will not be permitted due to the fact they can interact with other consoles. I'm sure everyone will understand when you have the amount of 360's we'll have there, a wireless pad could cause havoc.

Wireless pads run as wireless pads all the time, the only thing that changes when it's connected to a play-and-charge kit is where the power comes from, that's it.

It's why you can't plug a wireless controller into a PC using the p&c kit, you have to buy the wireless receiver instead. And it's also why you can plug the p&c kit into a PC's USB port and charge while still playing on the 360.

Here we go :)

Do we need to bring our own headsets? If so is it also not wireless ones?

I see very interesting, never knew that.

What about Forza 2 will we have to bring a wired pad for that or will it be in the pods like GOW was last time?

All the Xbox 360s will be on tables (not pods) and you will require wired pads for all games at MatchBox360 XL

i had a system link yesterday with some buddies, we all used wireless and there wasnt any interferance, it works fine as long as you switch on 1 xbox at a time and connect the wireless controllers to it then the same for the other xbox's etc

Yeah but if you can imagine the scenario of 30 or so ppl standing around the consoles with wireless pads then the potential problems are obvious especially if they have already played on one of the consoles. We would like to avoid this situation and as such, wireless pads will not be allowed.

The RB6 gametypes will be similar to those used at MLG with a combination of team sharpshooter and retrieval. Depending on the number of teams competing we may also include team survival.

3 of my teammates do not have wired pads and i dont think they will buy one each just for 2 days play. will we be able to hire wired 360 pads at the venue? Also, can we bring our own mem cards/hard drives with our saved characters for rainbow 6 vegas?

I'm currently awaiting confirmation of whether there will be wired pads available for hire. If not then we may look at whether or not we can use the plug n charge kits without battery packs. At this point in time, we advise all players to source a wired pad.

Memory cards/hard drives will not be permitted unless we can get the same character profiles on all the RB6 consoles. As I'm sure you can understand, you cant have a competitive tournament with players having access to different weapons. If this is the case then we have no option other than to use default character profiles.

We have a good number of wired pads available to hire, so you can either bring your own, or order one from the ticket office for collection when you arrive.

Due to the logistics of dealing with a large number of wireless pads and pairing them to the consoles, play & charge kits will not be allowed.
