Your Top 3 Games of 2006

Ok everyone has had enough time to play through the Xmas releases, so it's time to reflect on which were your top 3 games of 2006.

I'll get the ball rolling with mine:

1. Rainbow Six Vegas
2. Dead Rising
3. GRAW

R6 is hands down my favourite game. I like tactical shooters and this game has enough single and multiplayer options to keep me happy for a long time.

Please don't flame anyone for their opinions, by all means discuss choices, but just because you think a game is crap someone else might not.

I just love football games and every year there is one game i look forward to more than any other, Pro Evolution Soccer. Have owned all the previous ones and this one has to be the best IMO. :cool:

1. Oblivion. Such a great game. So much to do. So many options.
2. Splinter Cell Double Agent. Great, although too short single player and decent online mode. Really need to play it again.
3. Rainbow Six. Although the single player is slightly repetitive, it has some great moments. Multiplayer is great and I can't think of any bad games I've had on there. Attack and Defence can be intense, same with Terrorist Hunt on Realistic with High density of enemies.

I though that this wasn't going to be too easy, but actually it was. Although I have played other quality games last year, nothing is as good as those 3.

Played some other great games as well, like SvR 2007 and Saints Row. But I have had the most fun with these 3 games.

Really can only think of one game: - Gears of War, and thats only beause of the co-op, this year will be better thank god!

Oblivion - Quite simply the most immersive game I have ever played
Dead Rising - Such a great concept for a game, while it may not be completely original you will be pushed to find a survival game pushing the genre boundaries as well as this.
Small Arms - Pure arcade quality.

1) Battlefield 2:Modern Combat
The only game I've played on 360, that I could always count on for a quality online multiplayer experience. Just imagine how awesome this game would of been, less the bugs? Alas, even with the bugs, still the most fun i've had inside a multiplayer 360 environment.
2) GRAW
Yes, it actually comes in second, a close second though, because I have actually sold BF2:MC, and cannot bring myself to sell GRAW. Why, you might ask, isn't GRAW first then, based on this information - well simply because the action and style of play on multiplayer is very different. I enjoy GRAW multiplayer alot, but personally I think i had more fun inside BF2:MC, than GRAW. However, my trip to 10,000 kills continues and I continue to enjoy the less urban affairs with Chapter 2...
3) Rainbow Six:Vegas
This one was a toughie for me really, no other game has grabbed me like the first two have. If I had to choose one though, i'd probably go with Rainbow Six:Vegas, I suppose. I'd be lying if i said it had me enthralled still, I like it in small doses, but not enough to even complete the single player upon launch. I will, but it feels a bit too samey for my liking.
I've always enjoyed the franchise, just not as much as it's outdoor, forest wielding brother; Ghost Recon.


Omissions?

Both Viva Pinata and Gears Of War deserve mentions.

Gears Of War for an insanely well put together single player experience, this is HOW you do co-op guys. But on the flipside, this is NOT how you do multiplayer. Multiplayer is flawed in so many ways, most notably the lack of ranked team play and host options, but even from the weapon set. In my view, it's 'too easy' to be chainsawed and grenade tagged in this game.

Viva Pinata, for a first class approach to a game very much against what the Xbox is known for. For capturing the hearts and minds of 20/30 somethings into a world filled with colour, candy and... Crowlas. Yes the game is insanely addictive, to a point of shame for all those who enjoy a good blast on the blood thirsty games that fill the 360's popular games list. Unfortunately, as someone who enjoys multiplayer more than single player, it falls outside my top 3, because it really is a game you play under a rock, with yourself set to 'Offline'. (oops :o)
