Well I just noticed there's no thread on this. This program is immense, did anyone see the episode today (yesterday) "the weeping angel"? It was quite freaky at times, like Doctor Who can be. Highly entertaining never the less.

Yeah I watch this every week. Very good series. The last episode was awesome, don't blink...how the hell are you suposed to do that. When someone tells me not to blink, it makes me wanna blink lol. But yeah, love this series.

Did you ever watch Torchwood?

Nah never really watched the spin off (that's what it is right?)

I can actually not blink for quite a long time, but that angel face was pretty freaky and I'd want to blink lol.

Dark, it's a weekend, I don't have exams on weekends. And I've pretty much finished mine anyway. Plus I have insomnia.

Yeah it was a spin off to it but Captain Jack, the dude who's in the next episode, was the main person in Torchwood. I thought that was also a good series.

THIS IS A RANT!!!! Sorry but ive been a fan of Dr who since 1973. The last ep of this new series ep 13 the last timelord broke every law int he book i.e At 900 yrs old the doctor srinks into a hobbit...huu whats all that about, The master has keep most of the cast alive...The old masters would have killed them just for fun, The master wont regenerate....Thats like ahuman saying at the monment of death "im not going to die", The tacky jedi ending followed by the more tacky flash gorden ending..Female hand picking up the ring for those not in the know. Oh and how the hell can the interior shell of the tardis be punctured...Rushell t need his head kicking..Its bad enough the he opened the tardis doors in fight(last xmas ep)..Which has been stated to be imposable in the classic show.
RTD keeps making refs to the old show..but then breaks all the laws that were writen(Jake shoots a darlek inside the tardis which is ment to be a nuteral space..The old show broke this law and it cause a uproar.

Terry Nation would be turning in his grave.
Russhel T should hand the wittening over to others more in the know of the history program.

He made a great job bring the show back but now he's killing it.

Well, Captain Jack wouldn't die (permanently), and I think The Master kept Martha's family alive so she'd have more reason to come back. In Doctor Who confidential it said something like The Master kept The Doctor alive because he'd be no use to him dead. I prefer to think he just wanted The Doctor to be there to witness him take over the Universe, to show off, really; it seems more in character.

Definitely agree with you about the 900 year old Doctor. It wasn't necessary.
And when he started glowing and flying around the room, it just looked silly!

The Master should have been kept on the TARDIS as The Doctor planned. Then maybe he'd eventually escape in a later series, for more battles. Before he was given a new set of regenerations for the Time War, The Master's main goal was to extend his life at any cost! He'd never let himself die! The Doctor even mentions this when The Master threatens to destroy everything with the black-hole converters in the ships!

Maybe the TARDIS can't be opened when traveling through time, but it can when just traveling through space (i.e. normal flight)?
I don't remember that from the original show.

Actually, loads of things annoy me about the show, but I've written too much already. I still like watching it, though!
And I really liked the Captain Jack / Face of Boe twist. I wasn't expecting that.

I don't get the Face of Boe / Jack thing, I have missed quite alot of the new series. :(

Any care to explain please?

But yeah, Doctor Who is ace, but that 900 year old Doctor was stupid, then he was turned into gollum. Still a great show though. Wonder how many more Series they are going ot make?..

The face of boe was in the show earlier in the series, a massive face in a tank who was very wise. Saved the Doctor's life and was also the one who let the doctor know he wasn't alone and there would be another time lord.

He is Jack.

Well, it's implied. Strongly. RTD somewhat back-pedaled in the commentary by saying it's a theory - not definite.

It makes sense in some ways.

Captain Jack becomes immortal relatively close to our present time.
About 5 billion years into the future we meet The Face of Boe, the oldest being in the Isop galaxy (and who could pass for the head of a 5 billion-year-old human). (pic) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Face_of_boe)

It would explain how The Face of Boe came to be, and also how he knew another TimeLord existed (Captain Jack lived through the Mister Saxon story), and was able to tell The Doctor before it happened to him (The Doctor was in the Earth's and Jack/Boe's future, but hadn't lived the events himself yet).

However, it doesn't explain how the Face of Boe is telepathic, can teleport, has tendrils and was apparently pregnant with "Baby Boemina".

Maybe the Boekind race are the offspring of Captain Jack and some other alien species?
I wouldn't put it past him. ;)

Just a heads-up.

This weekend is Doctor Who weekend on UKTV Drama (Sky 132)!

It kicks off on Saturday at 8am. They will be showing episodes from every series (old and new), including the very first episode, "An Unearthly Child".

Can't wait! :D
