HBO (http://nikon.bungie.org/news.html?item=18900)has posted that the other disc is a '360 executable' - "sort of like the discs that come with magazines like the Official Xbox Magazine. They're labeled the way they are because they have to go through test". Interesting... but what is the 'executable' for? Hopefully the next Bungie.net update will shed some light.
Spreading around the web is an image of the official limited edition Halo 3 box with three (not two like we previously assumed) DVDs.
From the image below, you can see the disks titled 'Game Disc 1', 'Game Disc 2' and 'Bonus Features'. What's this mystery ?Game Disc 2? you ask? Well, some seem to think it could merely be two parts of the game, or maybe, one for single player and another for multiplayer.
However, we are going to add a twist to these rumors by pointing towards the possibility of a map editor being included on the second DVD. Now before you start writing this assumption off, it isn't too far fetched since code relating to a map editor has been found in the Halo 3 Beta source (Campaign.Co-op.Custom Game.Matchmaking.Map editor.Theater).

Just imagine the possibilities for custom games if this is true.

Featurettes: A series of short films covering a range of subjects, from making your Network play nice with Multiplayer, to the challenges of building the biggest Halo ever.
It's simply an interactive disc similar to that of OXM which includes various little behind the scenes style extras but has nothing to do with Gameplay or Additional Content.
Whola...and all from the Horse's mouth aswell.
