I don't think there will be many takers for this game but I've been waiting for it since it was released in Japan last year. It won't be a patch on most 360 games and having played the demo I can say that it hasn't changed much since its PS2 days and its not much better than a 6 or 7 out of 10 but I'll still be buying it. The demo level is very similar to the 3rd level from the original game where you fought the pirate leader on his boat at the end.
They seem to have left most of the game in Japanese which I quite like (I don't like watching dubbed films) but there are some moments where the guards are talking and you're supposed to be able to pick up story or helpful tips yet they are talking in Japanese with no subtitles so its kind of useless.
The controls are sketchy at best and in no way fluid to use. I can't think of much that will appeal to most gamers. If you've ever played and enjoyed any Tenchu game before then I'm sure you will enjoy this one too. If not enter at your own peril.

First Tenchu on PSX was brilliant, they just went downhill after that.

They didn't go downhill after that they just didn't go anywhere!
Its not the gameplay that attracts me its the style, setting and content.
I was gutted when I thought this was just going to be a Japanese release but now I think MS have made a mistake in bringing it to Europe. Maybe they would have been better off NOT giving us a demo.

I bought the full game and to be fair it isn't actually as bad as the demo led me to believe it would be. I like Tenchu games anyway but I figured that playing a PS2 game (this game is so last gen) was beneath me.
The game actually has slightly more to it than I remembered. There are various jumps to be executed and pressing crouch when landing from height are all things I had forgotten when I played the demo but the full game has reminded me of.
Custom characters is a new inclusion in this one but when all of the faces look retarded you end up plumping for the same couple anyway and the costumes aren't much better. You can buy new clothing, skills and abilities from the money you earn from playing any of the 50 missions (that is a **** load more than any other Tenchu game before).
I was kind of half hearted in buying the game and I was quite sure I would be disappointed despite my hesitancy but having played the first level a few times over and ending it differently each time I think I can see myself very much enjoying this game regardless of its limitations. The first time was a bit messy and the target came outside to see what all the noise was about, he hung about and the guards went back in, he spotted me and I chased his fat ass down cutting him till he fell. The scond time I took out his guards and snuck in behind him in his room and snapped his neck with my knee. Third time I just waited for a gap in his guards and ran in and stuck him like a pig through the paper door blocking my way.
Awesome.
edit:
Not so awesome after 20 missions. I'm still enjoying it but they really haven't tried very hard. There are 50 missions but only about 15 levels so you'll feel like you're repeating a lot of the game. There only seem to be about 4 stealth kills so you find that gets pretty repetitive too. Also they don't appear to have put many character models in the game. I've cut down the same boss character about 4 times now under different names, the only obvious difference is that they are wearing different coloured clothes. Wow, thats got to be a different guy then! Worst of all is the fact that the missions are so boring. Fair enough when you are supposed to be assassinating a boss character, you can approach it any way you want, but a lot of the missions require you simply to go from point A to point B.
I will say it again on the off chance anybody actually cares.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW AND LOVE TENCHU DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
