Please find below a MatchBox360 XL accommodation guide to help you plan your weekend...
XL ACCOMMODATION:
- MatchBox360 XL will be attracting gamers from all over the UK and Europe with our competitive tournaments and freeplay, offering the chance for the gaming community to socialise and meet your online friends and clan members.
If you're not local to the area, then suitable accommodation is essential for your XL weekend. For your convenience the NEC complex hosts 5 hotels onsite, with even more in close proximity. Whatever your budget, suitable hotel accommodation can be found ranging from as little as ?8 per night to luxury 5* accommodation.
We are currently in the process of trying to arrange discounts with a number of suitable hotels and full details will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. For the time being, MatchBox360 XL recommends the following hotels, which are located in or nearby the NEC complex. Alternatively a full list of hotels in & around the area can be found in the NEC Accommodation Directory (http://www.necgroup.co.uk/visitor/directory/hotels/Home.asp?k=&cat=&v=thenec&d=1).

Hey Konspiracy,
Did you manage to find any one that would give discount rates for Hotels? as we may have more than 6 people coming along (possibly 3 rooms). Maybe more...
Cheers,

Should be able to confirm some hotel discounts in the next few days. Full details tbc.
I think you'll be hard pushed to find any hotel in the UK that does 4 adults per room unless you manage to persuade them to give you a family suite tbh.

You can definatly get the 900 bus from the InnKeepers Lodge Sheldon - about 15-20 minutes to Birmingham International train station.
If you have the addresses of any of the other hotels you will be able to check here (http://www.travelinemidlands.co.uk/JourneyPlanner.jsp?vm_Reset_str=true) for public transport journey planning.
You'll be able to get an all day ticket for the bus for 3.00 bus or 4.90 bus/metro/train

Hi guys, i have just booked my hotel at travelodge, they are doing and easter offer, so its £19 per room per night saving £32. Iv just booked mine now. I previously booked at F1 but iv just cancelled that so there should be a spare room going there too. I booked at yardley travelodge and booked an ensuite family room. So that works out at £6.30 per night! Bargain!
heres the link, the room can hold up to 3 adults:

The Innkeepers is also an affordable hotel and is much better than the F1 (the little you spend extra on the hotel would be what you save on taxis from the F1 anyway!).

and it depends on which one you are staying at, the sheldon Innkeepers is a 5 minute taxi ride, 10 minute bus ride, No. 900 bus (plus a bit of walking from the train station) or approx 4 mile walk.
If your worried about spending too much on Taxi's then you can look at http://www.travelinemidlands.co.uk/JourneyPlanner.jsp to find alternative public transport routes from where you are staying to the NEC. Buses are obviously more cost effective, but less reliable, but 5 of you can get around on 1 ticket for a day for £6.00 on a daysaver (http://www.travelwm.co.uk/cards/cardinfo/ticketinfo.asp?tickets=4)
