Not too sure what you mean mate...
I am in regular contact with XLEAGUE.TV and have helped them out with getting players to their recent tournaments. As you may be aware the next XL in August will be run in association with XLEAGUE so you can expect a film crew to be attendance and subsequent footage to appear on their website and TV channel
Does that answer your question? Please feel free to email me at any time: konspiracy@matchbox360.co.uk

No I want people to see this thus no PM. I decided to check out Xleague tv and this is just an opinion, not a hate fueled or anti-xl post. Well i checked it out and I was pretty shocked with the way they went about it. Do they actually know how MLG is structured etc. Loads of games that are just NOT competitively compatable. Then cam Halo2 - The Match and I was actually forced to shame. Supposedly FFA it worked like this. 8 players, two semi-finals of four players, one on midship and one on lockout. SMG start and DEFAULT WEAPONS, oh and FFA is not four man. This was made even more insulting due to the fact that the final was on Beaver Creek... My personal opinion is to try and go the MLG way... It's proven and me as somebody with gaming aspiration would love nothing more than it to take that path because an MLG is what we crave. I think it would work really wel if you limited it to games that actually require skill and are used in MLG. I don't mind the actual 4 man FFA if it was listed as AM, and then you maybe had serious stuff of 4v4's an real FFA's with quality because frankly that is doing the future of actual Brit/Euro pro gaming no favours. It makes us look like a complete joke. Another criticism would have to be the 'experts' because they sat and talked a complete load of bull for ten minutes. You would be better of getting quality players that play at a high level and want to see an MLG Europe style set-up because... well... they actually know what they are talking about. The channel is a great idea if you use it right. As for me i'm more than happy to provide anything for the future of european gaming with free advertising. On my site, My myspace, BeBo, everything. All of us want to see something big so maybe we could actually tell every European we meet on XBL about it and do things like the afore mentioned. It's not hard and I think you'd be suprised with the amount of people who would hit the site up and join or just have a look. Another suggestion would be running onlines, it doesnt really matter if they pay much, look at www.violatedgaming.com, and anyway the actual entrance fee's tend to pay for the whole tourney and profit but if thats not possible free ladders would be great like on VG as this would attract American gamers too, giving more weight to the community. I've got more to say but Champs League Final beckons.:D

Shame as u said doesn't really represent what the Halo 2 community wants these days, my only worry would be that your directing your suggestions at the wrong set of people.
As you've signed up to this site and forums you have no doubt become aware that we run FREE online events for all manor of Xbox and 360 games and also invest in LANS with our very own XL (not Xleague). If you cast your eye over what and how we run our events you will see for the Halo 2 side of things we keep to the competitive nature of gaming with our rules and layouts.
The last Halo 2 FFA for instance (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=53) or the last Halo 2 4v4 we did (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=52)and then even the current 2v2 (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=80) we are now hosting all have the competitive gamer in mind.
MatchBox is not Xleague but we support them, if you are as half as keen as u make out then stick around here and enjoy our online competitions i think they will suit you. Also take at look at our next XL LAN (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=2469) which will be in August :)
I would suggest u email Xlegaue via there own site to take up issues with how they they run there competitions.

Give XLEAGUE a chance mate...they've only just started and the games you are seeing are simply the pilot tests that were advertised on MatchBox360. To be fair, they had a few problems and technical issues but the feedback from everyone who went down there (including the Halo2 players) has been very impressive and enthusiastic.
The XLEAGUE online leagues and comps will be starting soon as well. I'm not too sure how that will work yet but I would imagine it'd be pretty close to what you described yourself.
Obviously these things take time to build up and I'm sure they will address any areas which can be improved. Theres always room for improvement...whether it be the featured games, settings, rules or commentary...but these things take time to develop and get right for the target audience. What you also have to bear in mind is that as a TV channel they have to feature games that are spectator friendly for all skill levels of gamers...so going strictly competitive and pro gamer may not necessarily be the best option to attract and maintain the interest of their target audience.
Having spoken at length to the ppl at XLEAGUE, I know that their intentions include everything you have stated...but it just may take a while to get there whilst the station is still in its infancy stage. All feedback is good feedback...so keep your thoughts and suggestions coming as I'm sure they will be looking to continually improve and deliver a great service to the gaming community.
XLEAGUE.TV will be at XL...so hopefully you'll see UK and European competitive gaming at its best on a screen near you soon! ;)
Like you say the Champions League final is on and I'm missing it so I'm off...

Like I said I'm not dissing, I'm generally a passionate person so It might have come across as hating but it's not. It's my feelings and views I don't want xleaguetv going anywhere, just re-shaping to what competitive gaming really is. Sorry for no paragraphs, in a rush and as for XL2 I'm doing everything in my power to attend. Yeah it's all going the right way but it wont realize its full potential without feedback from us. Oh and sorry scouce I hate Liverpool, even better that it was a fluke by Milan, typical a la italiana :D:D:D:D
wow sorry should have your post properly Kon.
Im gonna give so much feedback and my own free crappy advertising it will hurt!!!;)
MMMMMMMMMM the sweet taste of scouse tears....

Fairplay mate!
At the end of the day, I think we all want the same thing for the gaming community in the UK and Europe. I cant speak on behalf of XLEAGUE, but XL is and will always be about the gaming community...no matter what your age, gender or skill level...and your feedback is essential to enable us to progress and improve our events.
It takes time to build up a strong competitive gaming scene and the very foundations of that are being laid right now. What some ppl dont seem to realise is that there is no such thing as a "pro" gaming scene in the UK and Europe for eSports on consoles at the moment (anyone who tells you any differently is talkin bolx tbh), but it is something that we are working towards...and with events like XL and TV stations like XLEAGUE working together then we will get there in the end...may be even sooner than you think! ;)
Oh btw...if you're offering free advertising I will be more than happy to supply you with any grx, information or interviews! :D

Vennganza just to let you know while I was at the GoW and Halo 2 events at Xleague studios, I explained to them about the MLG settings and how it would increase the amount of players and viewers watching the programs such as "The Match." I spoke to one of the commentator's and presenter's regarding this for about half an hour and they'll be taking the MLG settings into consideration and we will hopefully all be able to compete in Xleague using these settings like XL and TSG do.
They didn't seem to understand at 1st but they realised that most of the Halo 2 community want to see these changes made. But like Kon said they're only pilots so don't expect to have the same rules and settings constantly, if they want to attract more viewers they won't use the settings repetitively unless it becomes very popular among players which they will obviously know and understand.
I've been invited to compete in there H3 beta tournament next week so if anyone wants me to pass on any information or if there is anything you would like to see changed I'll try speaking to them and get your views across so just PM me or post anything you think might need improving on.

They're very lucky because there isn't many gametypes in Rumble Pit, I would guess there is approximately 10-12, also Bungie have balanced it so that Slayer is played a hell of alot more in comparison to the other gametypes. Xleague will probably ask us to Veto it if it's not the gametype they want us to play on.
