Seriously, some of that is very exciting...
"game variant sharing"
"4 Player co-op"
"Hold RB to drive Hornet
Hold RB to operate Pelican Turret
Hold RB to drive Shadow
Hold RB to ride in Phantom"
Plus a whole bunch of other pant-moistening goodies.
So where do I sign up?!?!

You could select co-op multiplayer over xbox live on halo 2. go try it.
im not saying it isnt included, but lets wait till official word of it first. also just because its in the data, dont mean it will be included in the full game, hot coffee anyone ?

Agreed, but the fact those bits 'n' pieces are in the beta code surely indicates that;
a) those things will make final release
- or -
b) those things have been considered and removed for one reason or another

Thats exactly what I wanted and hopefully its exactly what we'll get.
If they find/found that they can't manage four they had at least better give us two player Live co-op this time round!
Looks like they are trying to counter the modders by allowing extreme alterations in custom game variants too.

Info about Game Varients and 4 Player Co-op (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/13539/Halo-3-Beta-Code-Confirms-4-Player-CoOp-Over-Xbox-Live/)
which basically says:
Many of the 300,000 users that are currently playing the Halo 3 beta are skillful modders who over the last few days have been examining the beta's code. They have found references to unannounced weapons, new vehicles and game types but probably their most precious finding is the fact that Halo 3 will support up to four players co-op on Xbox Live and System Link.
Scrolling through the list of on-screen text for party menus, one sentence revealed the following:
The game cannot start because all players are set to observer. Too many players for splitscreen. Only 2 players may play splitscreen coop on the same Xbox 360 console. The party size is too large to start the game. Up to 4 players may play coop on Xbox Live or System Link. Loading information from Xbox Live?

Yea, i know, that was when i thought there was nothing else in the beta, but since then i've seen loads of glitches including getting into a custom lobby and checking out the settings.
I thought Bungie wouldn't be so careless as to include this sort of code in the beta. I thought the beta would be a new build of their Delta and not just remove items from it because there would obviously be left over code.

It makes sense to leave it in there.
During the development phase Bungie have the ability to easily switch things on and off, and I'd imagine this would extend to when they compile the build. I would also imagine this extends to all menu items in the game.
Now, if you start taking things out you would have to do a full regression test - it's wasted time to rip stuff out when you can effectively get the same result by just hiding it.
Also, I'm pretty sure that Bungie knew someone would poke around inside - look at the extra hype it's produced. 4 player co-op? F*CK YEAH!!!!! etc. etc.

Oh come off it Moose, that is just a conspiracy theory, why can't you just accept they forgot to hide it properly? It's not like they need the publicity...
