I can confirm that the Xbox 360s will not be pods...n yes they will all be in HD! (make n model tbc). The only thing you will need to bring is your 360 wired pads (for obvious reasons wireless pads will not be allowed). :cool:

Memory cards will not be permitted at this stage but this is dependent on the security of the consoles and whether or not we can make the port accessible. I'll keep you informed if anything changes with regards to this. Setting up teams on PES6 only takes a few minutes and we can arrange it so you play on the same consoles anyway. :cool:

Yep, the advanced ticket payments will allow us to identify players who enter multiple events so we can arrange fixtures and avoid any crossovers. We also plan to have approx fixture schedules so you can arrange your weekend at XL knowing when you're due to play ;)

What game are you wanting to play? If it's Halo 2 or Pro Evolution soccer then that's absolutely fine. You don't need a parent to play these games though. But unfortunately you're too young to participate in Gears of War.

Sorry about that welshy. Unfortunately under 15s definitely cannot play GoW at XL. Discussions are ongoing with Trading Standards and I hope to be able to confirm the exact age restrictions within the next week or so...as it stands the age restrictions is aged 15 or older but this is subject to change. I'm trying my best to resolve this asap and I understand everyones frustrations but unfortunately the final decision is beyond my control.

Hello i was wondering if there is still time to order tickets and also if there is any places left in the halo 2 tournaments, gears of war and so on. If there is, when will be the last time you will be able to order tickets and enter the tournaments? I also was wondering if there is going to be a halo 2v2 tournament because i am sure that the last xl there was a halo 2v2 and unfortunatly me and my 2v2 partner wouldnt go to :(

You can still prebook you tickets and places for all competitions. All players who have prebooked will receive priority over tickets for a limited time period before they go on general sale via the MatchBox360 XL Ticket Office which will open in the next few weeks.

Approx 100 ppl have prebooked already so its best to prebook now to give yourself the best chance of getting into whatever tournaments you'd like to take part in.

As stated on the announcement, there will be Halo2 FFA and 4v4 but 2v2 has been dropped from the schedule...but we've added Gears of War and Rainbow 6 Vegas to the official tournament lineup! :D

There should be quite a good turnout for PES6 as we've been doing a number of free to enter events at Gamestation in Birmingham in association with PES Rankings...so I would estimate 20 - 32 players at least will be taking part. :cool:

The prebookings basically gives us an indication as to how many players are entering which events, and all players who prebook will be given priority over tickets which are to be purchased in advance using the MatchBox360 XL online ticket office (you will be contacted as soon as the ticket office goes online) for a limited time period before they go on general sale.

We expect the event to be a sell out with approx 300 gamers in attendance so get yourself prebooked asap to avoid disappointment! ;)

@ kaka - pes6 will follow a champions league format with club teams and group/knockout stages. Not too sure what the problems with your 360 consoles have to do with XL tbh as you dont need to bring your own console.

I can honestly say you're the luckiest player I have ever played lol just kidding. I think about 4 of your goals were fair, the rest pure luck! Prize money for all events will be the same based on the player limit being reached per event and will be allocated as follows:

1st = ?250
2nd = ?150
3rd = ?100

The player limit is a realistic guide only and there is flexibility to increase player limits in the schedule. Basically...the more ppl who enter = more prize money. Similarly if the player limit isnt reached then the prize money will decrease but 100% of entry fees will contribute towards the prizes in that case (ie if 50 players enter PES6 then the prize money stated will still be guaranteed).

We are also awaiting confirmation whether or not this will be a PES Rankings event, but if it is then we would expect a higher K rating to be awarded at the discretion of PES Rankings (full details tbc).

The reason why the Halo2, GoW and RB6 prizes are quoted as being higher is that they feature 4v4 tournaments which can accommodate upto 32 teams (ie 128 players) and we are charging ?15/player. Do the maths...its quite simple! ;)

The exact schedule and format can only be confirmed when we have a better idea of how may players will be competing and whether it will be in association with PES Rankings. As such I cant confirm the exact schedule but I expect the group stage to be played on the 4th with the knockout and finals being played on the 5th...however it is possible that we could get it all done in one day.

All games will be played with 2 players per console, and all group games will be 10 minute matches which will increase during the knockout stage (most likely 15 minutes for semis and final).

If we have 64 players taking part then that would equate to 8 groups of 8 players = 28 games per group...so to keep with the schedule group games will only consist of one game against each of your opponents (this is standard for PES6 events). On this basis, the top 4 from each group would qualify for the knockout stage.

We've done 2 offline with tournaments with PES Rankings at Gamestation, and with 40 players taking part it takes approx 6 hours over 16 consoles, and we have to bear in mind the schedule with RB6 and GoW plus any freeplay in addition to this. As I'm sure you can appreciate, all of this (as with the prize fund) is completely dependent on how many players take part...but I can guarantee you XL will provide one of the best PES6 events you've ever been to! ;)

The only major difference is that they wont be on pods this time. The layout will be slightly different.

There may be 360 pads available for hire...but if there is the there will be limited numbers available (tbc). Your only alternative is to borrow one from a friend or buy one. Again there may be some for sale (tbc).

Unfortunately there are issues with this as you can still activate another 360 whilst connected through the charge kit. As such wireless pads are not permitted at all.

The wireless capabilities still function regardless of the battery back. I am referring to a post by Sub and will be testing this weekend, but as it stands this will not be permitted.

Basically, pad hire is to be confirmed. As soon as I have confirmation on the pads I will post details but please be aware that you may need to buy a wired pad if you havent got one already (there may be some available to purchase at the event but again this is to be confirmed).

Also people, if it's anything like last XL you will find alot of players walking about with their pads who are not in a competition at the time that you are. Most are friendly and will be more than willing to let you borrow theirs for a match, if you ask nicely lol.

Cheers man. Also, for the pre-booking, i'm not sure what clan name I put down, so if my other clan members put down a team name that was a bit different to mine, would that be a problem?

For instance, iG are sending 2 teams. iG.North and iG.South. If we just put infused gaming does it make a difference or???

Its not essential your team names are accurate when you do the prebooking but when you purchase your tickets online its important that you get it as accurate as possible so we can arrange the fixtures and ensure the correct players are assigned to the correct teams (if you get that bit wrong then its essential that you email me with the correct details).

The NEC does have a wirless lan facility but this isnt available in the Toute Suite. It would cost us far too much to enable the internet in the room itself so the answer to that is "no" I'm afraid.

The rules will be similar to the online champions league with teams choosing maps and bleed times accordingly. Raven Down and Rooftops will be excluded as will all downloadable content.

Obviously the downloadable content would require an XBL account and connection for all consoles. There will be 16 x 360s for GoW and I cannot guarantee that all of them will have the downloadable content so they will be excluded.

TVs for Halo2 are 28". HDTVs for the 360s should be 23" (exact make, model n size tbc).

There were about 40 places available for GoW last time I checked but obviously the spaces are only determined by ticket sales n not the prebookings...but if you do prebook you are more or less guaranteed a place when they go on sale.

Memory units wont be required for any games as all profiles are to be created locally on the 360 HDDs and the memory slot will not be accessible.

GoW will be over both days (but is dependant on number of teams tbh)
Friday night or Saturday morning...its your call mate. Birmingham International train station is no more than a 5 minute walk from the Toute Suite (check maps on xlgaming.co.uk)
Both days will run from 9am - 10pm.
GoW will be double elimination knockout (ie your team has 2 lose twice to get knocked out).
It does help us if your team mates use the same team names in prebooking...but it is essential this info is correct when you buy your tickets online.

Alrite lads just some info konsipracy about PES for XL

Announced that North V.S South one of biggest PES tournies for rankings and the North event clashes on the 5th of August with XL

Speaking to matt he prob told this but he will be running hopefully the PES tournie altogether on the 4th for better turnout as if over 2 days many pes players will opt to go in the north event as its worth 48k in rankings and is at the reebok stadium in bolton.

Just wondering whether PES will be run on the 4th all day as that would be much better with some like me having to then travel back home to wolves then get up and go to bolton the next morning for more PES action lmao

All tournament rules will be made available online within the next week.

I will confirm more about the RB6 rules on the weekend, as it will be a combination of gametypes and not just team sharpshooter (looking at the number of RB6 teams prebooked we may be able to include team survival). GPS Device and XM-26 LSS will definitely be restricted, but round times and maps will depend on the gametype and how many teams are taking part.

If you would like to have an input on the RB6 rules, please feel free to post your suggestions in the RB6 rules thread :cool:
