Heres a message I just got on bungie.net (I have deleted parts of it for obvious reasons).
Is this a fake? As I have not taken part in any competition or applied in any way at all for a Beta, I don't even have a 360!

Welcome to the Bungie Friends & Family Halo 3 beta!

In order to play the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta, you will need an Xbox 360 with a hard drive and an Xbox LIVE Gold account.

Your beta download code is: No chance :p

This code will allow you to download the Halo 3 Beta to one Xbox 360 console, one time.

Instructions for installing and launching the beta are below:

1. Turn on your Xbox 360 and sign-in with your Xbox LIVE Gold account
2. Select ?Marketplace? from the Xbox LIVE dashboard
3. Select the ?Redeem Code? option
4. Enter a beta download code
5. Once the download completes, navigate to the ?Games? blade of the dashboard
6. Select ?Demos and More?
7. Select and launch the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta!

The initial download may take some time depending on network traffic and your own internet connection. Please be patient.

Please note that the Halo 3 beta only supports Matchmaking play over Xbox Live. You will not be able to play any custom games or play in offline/system link matches. You can, however, play with a friend in split-screen games in the Social playlists.

You can visit our website and interact with other beta participants and leave feedback for Bungie in our forum located at http://www.bungie.net/Forums/Halo3Beta. This forum will be active as of Friday 5/11. Staring Tuesday, 5/15, we will have a wealth of information available to give you an edge against the online competition. Bungie.net will also give you a chance to review a sampling of post-game statistics from the matches you play online.

Pie, I could test it out for you. One I'm not going to keep it and two you've known me for ages. Thing is, once you've used a code I don't think you could use it again. So it might be a bad idea.

All you need is a profile on Bungie.net.
Bungie are sending Beta invites to random B.NET members.

Pie happily gave his code to me last night, thank u Pie ;) and this afternoon i got 1. As pie doesn't have a 360 i thought the best way to pay him back would be to go 50/50 with him by selling it on ebay for however much it goes for.

You might need to get out a bigger spoon Azure :)

I told Tugsy this afternoon , then u come over and have a go. And make stupid posts like that. Pie gave me his code which i have already said i will "look" after him at XL which if u ask ppl like Razor how they got looked after by me last time you will see its not a bad deal. On top of that im splitting the money 50/50 with pie.

I don't think you realise James, it all looks nice and innocent on the inside of your skull but out here in reality that's bullshit.

It isn't your code to sell, so giving someone half of what your profit from it back isn't a "good deal". I speak and play with Pie pretty much every day as it happens. Whether or not Pie is cool with waht you are doing is beside the point, you know he wouldn't say boo to a goose and the point is that you put it up for sale before he even knew about it. How you can say

Is beyond me, you thought that the best way to pay someone back after taking their code and finding your spare one is to sell the spare one and split it?!

You're mad mate. And what's more I am fed up of having to deal with your stupidity in these situations and get short changed in our friendship because you cannot hold a conversation when we are at odds. When you have been friends for the better part of 5 years you are actually allowed to disagree and let the other one butt in without writing them off.

Whatever James, you choose to let Halo run your life that's your lot but let me just say for your benefit you were a sound guy before Halo. Halo caused the HiV **** up, Halo stopped us going on the lash, Halo made us fight because we weren't on the same level, and now you have no time for me because I am no longer part of your Halo bubble except to occasionally say "****" or "your mum" on msn. And at the end of it all you'll write me off over halo too. I have no time for anyone else who acts as much as an arse as you do towards me but this is it this time.

Spindryer - selling it is wank. Totally. I got a code, and if I hadn't got a 360 I'd find someone that HAS and wanted the code, and give it to them. Numerous people here have asked you if they can have it, yet you are going to sell it because you can get money for the fact that someone else was nice enough to give you theirs...

And whats this 'looking after him' at XL all about? Did he get easier groups or something? I want an answer to that question, because it's not on...

I think he was referring to the fact that I was short on the money side of things and if it wasn't for spin I wouldn't have been able to attend but he helped out a great deal eneabling me to get knocked out in every first round. *Curses at the fact theres no resistance tournament for me to win at XL* :rolleyes:

I can't help but feel partly responsible for this falling out lol.

Just for the record, I gave the code to James, as I had absolutely no use for it and at the time he was in need of a code. Therefore from that point in time the beta code was his. Whatever he chooses to do with it I fully support as it is now his code. I would not have thought of selling it had I not given it to anyone, I would simply have just left it in my Bungie inbox, so I am actually very content with the fact I am making ?20 out of it. James is a good friend of mine and I trust him. As he is a good friend he has agreed to 'look after me' as it were at XL, and I apreciate that.
I'm sure that to many people it will seem as he is ripping me off as he is giving me only half of the price the code has been sold for, but the two parties involved (James and me) are both happy with the deal and so I see no reason why that affects anyone else.

I think everyone should chill out n respect their decision to do whatever they like with it. They have discussed the situation openly and honestly on the forum and I'm sure they didnt expect to get flamed for it. I wouldnt have complained if I'd have found the code in my inbox but they have the right to do whatever they like with it and they are both happy so leave them to get on with it. Also this has absolutely nothing to do with XL other than James said he would "look after" Pie at the event as a friend.
