alright jsut watched the 1:30 viewing of Spiderman 3 at edingburgh
the film was absoloutly amazing, only down side was the cheesey peter parker antics (reason below)
the simboite which overwhelms peter, enhances emotions and this coupled with his break up with MJ in the film, causes him to strut his stuff down the street to the worst music ever, roll into a shop, buy a suit, and take the police cheifs daughter (whom he saved as spiderman) to the jaz bar which MJ now waits and sings in (as she got fired from broadway for being crap).
MJ is called up to sing, and as she is about to sing peter starts playing the piano like some drugged up prick, the he starts dancing all over the bar with the police cheifs daughter (with more absoloutly shite music)
apart from that, it was a well good film, which i give 9/10.
i was actually gutted at the end when their was no clip which made you want to see the next movie (like 'spiderman 2' where Harry finds all the goblin stuff).
9/10 - well worth a look-see
I'm going to see it sat night, I'll ppst review after then

I just saw it, and I must admit I was laughing throughout the parts you mentioned in that spoiler. I also laughed very hard when he cried, I think he's an awful actor to be honest.
Really good film though, I was waiting for a cliff hanger but nothing happened. :(

i liked the cheesey bits to be honest, thought it was a good addition.
We had some good moments at our cinema, when he looks in the mirror and flicks his hair down about 20 people shouted "EMOOOOO!!!"
And when he
slaps MJ, a kid shouted WIFE-BEATER!!!! which was rather funny tbh

I have always thought the spiderman films were not a touch on teh character of the comics and that toby maguire is a really **** actor. The whole thing smacks of "The new adventures of superman" to me and shows that no amount of style really overcomes the need for substance.
4/10
Lame film. surely only geeky white ppl can enjoy something like that.
Plot: rubbish. easy to predict and some stupid moments
running into a hole in ground i some physics testing facility (yawn)and then being turned into sandman?
characters were crap. sandman was stupid. toby mcguire is a **** actor and when he turns bad it gets worse. MJ is annoying and the best bits of the film didn't have her in.
not funny at all. people in the cinema were laughing at those moments innes talked about. how?
was the female english reporter actually a joke?!
they were the only funny bits and that was because she was actually the worst actor i've ever seen.
I think I enjoyed it considerably less because I knew what the film should have been like.

Because it was so ****, I laughed.
they seemed to genuinely find it funny.
at the end of the film about 2 people clapped for less then a second. i think most people thought it was better then i did though.

Just cam back from seeing this.
Was dissapointed. Was an extremely average film and I expected better.
I am a religious fan of the comics, and in that respect maybe thats why i disliekd it so much, It was very disloyal to the comics.
So yeah, not best pleased.
Having said that, the effects were brilliant. But effects dont make a movie good.

Personally I very much enjoyed the film. Besides the Extremely cheesy moment which so far no-one has mentioned where spiderman obviously HAS to swing by a big American flag on his way to go save 'the world' the same world which happens to only be new york. And also the fact that all characters must learn something before being 'free' or dying. "I forgive you" etc.
Without those moments though, I really enjoyed the film. Yes the part where peter turns into some form of attempted ladies man was very cheesy. But if you are actually paying attention you will hear that the simboite(?) doubles certain attributes that are repressed. Coupled with the fact that if you pay attention not to peter, but to the girls around him, they obviously think he is completely mental, which is what is funny, not his actions themselves.
Overall, the fight scenes were superb, the storyline tied in nicely with previous films, and they also added in plenty of moments of humour which the last two fims had often been lacking. The film was long with some slow and cheesy american parts, but overall definitely worth a watch.
8/10

I liked it. It stayed pretty true to the comic books only differing in a few places (Introduction of Gwen Stacey after meeting MJ already).
Although the cheesy bits were...well cheesy, i still enjoyed the film. The humor was really needed as the previous films didn't show this side to spidey before.
This has to be one of the best, if not the best, comic book film of all time. Plus Toby McGuire is a very good actor so he portrays Peter Parkers dual identities very well, as he did in the previous 2 films.
9.5/10

I don't see how you can say Toby McGuire is a good actor. He does a basic character and when he's meant to do something slightly complicated (crying) he does it awfully.
toby mcguire is a complete gay

Good fight scenes.
Indeed, the only good part about it i think, it went from crap to good to crap to good to crap to good, but on the whole pretty crap, I liked S1 + 2 but this was far too much, why have so many stories going on at once, sandman venom hobgoblin (i think) then the whole MJ pete thing, and his ego. Why not just a single bad guy ? or even just venom + goblin that would have worked better imo.
overall 6/10 for me.
