Please find details below for Round 1 of the MatchBox360 RB6 Sharphooter (correct as of 7:30pm 2/5/07). :cool:

All games to be played Thursday 3rd May @ 8:00pm

Game Type: Player Match
Items Restricted: GPS Device, Shield, XM-26 LSS.
Maps: Streets
Max Players: 8 or 9 (depending on group)
Private Slots: 8 or 9 (depending on group)
Dedicated Server: No
Allow Voice: Alive Only
Language: English
Round Duration: 10 minutes
Rounds Per Match: 1
Time Between Rounds: Unlimited
Game Point Limit: None
Briefing Time: 5 Seconds


Please add the MatchBox360 group representative highlighted in bold to your friends list asap. You are also advised to ensure you have sufficient space on your friends list to add all your group players. The groups are as follows:

i think the way that a random host has been chosen is a bit poor. If there is lag reported in the game by multiple players,will a new one be aquired?

Hosting and Lag tests:
- In the first rounds, each group will have a player designated at random to host the game.
- All group matches must start with a 3 minute "lag test".
- All players must stay within their respective spawns and check for any signs of lag (shooting at the wall and a delay in decals appearing is a clear sign).
- In the event of a lag test failing (ie multiple players reporting lag) or players showing as red ping then an alternative server should be sought.
- If no alternative server is found from a player within the group, then the match shall be postponed and MatchBox360 event staff will provide a dedicated server to host the match. Please post details on the forum immediately should this situation arise.
- If a player leaves or is disconnected from a game within the first minute of gameplay or prior to any kills then the game is void and must be restarted.
- If a player leaves or is disconnected from a game after the first minute of gameplay, then the round must be completed. The disconnected player will progress to the losers bracket or eliminated accordingly.

Please read the rules with regards to host before making any criticisms. Do you have any better suggestions or do you expect MB360 staff to provide dedicated servers for all games?

To be honest,it would save alot of time and complaining if a dedicated server was sought from the begining with RB6 being a difficult game to host. Also host advantage is quite noticeable on the game and seeking a dedi would also sort out this problem.

Moneyshot SMz is in group D and has a decent host.However as i stated earlier,if matchbox360 has the staff with suitable connections to host the game,then dedi's would be much appreciated and would save time and cut arguing.:)

Yeah I fully understand what you're saying mate, but unfortunately we dont have sufficient members of staff to provide dedicated servers for all games. It was discussed amongst MatchBox360 staff and we decided that we will provide dedicated servers in the later rounds only or in the case of none of the group players being able to provide a suitable host (again this is stipulated in the rules).

After each lag test your bound to get sum idiot hu says its laggin cus they want to host or simply cus they wanna be a pain in the ass.. if ur gonna get in a MB360 host if this happens (which it most probably will) then u mite aswell just start by having a MB360 host in the first place to save evry1 from havin to sit in a lobby for about an hour lookin for a host evry1 will agree with! Plus there is a host advantage issue so a dedicated server will make for a much fairer tournament..

As they have already said, they don't have the number of staff to do this, and quite a few are actually involved in this comp so it would be impossible. Would you like to offer your xbox for a dedicated server?

And I'm sure we wont get retards who just want to host, that's just lame, a good player can win even when they aren't hosts ;).

The best host i have ever played on during my time on R6V was in the last Team Survival 4v4 tournament i played in, it was Brotherhood of 666 Vs Bad Company UK. We had problems playing on their host and the rest of the Bad Company team couldn't get a decent host set up. We didn't really want host and map choice so Bad Company asked BC Stallion to host a dedicated server he had around 1 meg upload apparently. His host was really really good.

No,TEu Dodger used to be called BC Artfuldodger.So artfuldodger no longer exists as he is now called TEu Dodger.So,Artfuldodger will not be in the tournement but TEu Dodger(his new gamertag) will be.

What map is it for the first round?

For the lag test is it the first 3 minutes of the round or a separate 3 minute round?

Sorry mate...I should have stated it in the rules and on this thread (will update).

Round 1: 10 minutes on Streets.

The lag test is a seperate 3 minute round to ascertain if theres any evidence of excessive lag. Obviously any player in red ping will most likely cause lag so everyone needs to ensure there is no other online activity (ie downloading on pcs) that could cause poor connectivity in their household. No need to do any killing as any kills in the lag test wont be counted.

Please list any no show players as "no show" when you post the results (ie next to their name)...and yes, this first round will be a 10 minute match on Streets.

The games are due to start at 8pm. As stated in the rules, the host should allow 15 minutes to allow any possible latecomers to enter the lobby before declaring them as "no show".

@ poopstomper - its fine now but its a very misleading for event staff when players sign up twice with diggerent GTs n usernames (so yeah, it was a problem but now its fixed).

Thanks to all the players in my group n apologies for the problems connecting at the start (my connection dropped when I was creating the lobby n had to reboot everything).

i virus x said my host was horrible but i hosted for like hours straight full 8 man rooms and no1 moaned and said it was perfect then everyone else in the lobby only 6 man btw said it was fine except him.
but he just has a grudge with me becuase hes bad.
