Answer : When there is a bug in the single player game.

I friend of mine has just completed the single player on what he thought was realistc but didn't get the achievement. On searching the net it would appear that there is a bug in the game, where if you start the game on normal then start a new game on realistic, when you load a check point it will revert back to normal difficulty.

I checked my games last night because when I first got it I gave the single player a quick try on normal then statrted properly on realistc and sure enough it had reverted back to normal. The problem is that, as far as I know there is no way of telling what levels have been completed on which difficulty. It would appear that the only way to get around this is to completely delete your save and start again

Has this happened to anyone else?

so if you play the game in realistic you have to do it all in one go?

I've still never touched the easy difficulty on it, and I got the achievement, so it makes sense. I had a guy in a lobby a while back asking about it, sounds like he got the same thing.

Skastar: You don't have to do it all in one sitting, but if you are going to do it, then you need to have a save that has only played it on realistic, otherwise it'll revert back to the normal difficulty.

I had only just finished Calypso Casino so not really too much to do again, but it is annoying. You would have thought Ubisoft would have sorted it out with the patch.

Apparently there is a way to check which difficulty it is. If you releoad the checkpoint and the crosshair is red when hovering over enemies.

But I don't know how to get it back....

As long as you don't do any Co-Op play it wont revert to normal difficulty.

I'll be going through it again on Realisitic when I get my 360 back.

Yeah the crosshairs going red is how I realised it had gone back to normal difficulty.

or you could just delete your normal file from the XBOX dashboard, a freind of mine says that it works just fine for him like that

sometim,es theirs a bug that will revert it back to normal when you load a checkpoint in, but the easy way to tell the difference is when you have you crosshair on a bad guy it will light up red in normal but it will stay white in realistic.
