I'm changing this thread, now to simply finding a new card rather than trouble shooting the old one.

Basically the card everyone used to recommend has been discontinued so i'm up **** creek without any idea what to do next.

I've had nothing but bad luck with USB devices so please unless it's really easy to install only recommend internal cards.

Need's Pal 60 support, sound support and high quality capturing.

And if you can link me to a product page, most capture cards have similar names being a line of product.

And don't link me to good old Halo3 forums, I've checked that thread and without product pages you don't know what your buying.

Well are there not some settings where you can adjust the brightness etc?
I don't see how 50/60 hz can affect the contrast of a picture but I could be wrong.

what pie says, the program i gave you should have brightness, and then there is another setting that only goes to 7, turn that to 7, and put brightness to around 180ish

No setting's for brightness or contrast until you've finished editing. Even then the option to increase brightness is useless when some textures are unfeatured pitch black.

If you're using virtual DUB then there definatly is brightness settings.

Ok i'm just going to change this thread to a recommend me a good capture card external or not for under ?50.

I've looked through the Halo3 forums thread and while theres some useful stuff there you can never tell which card is which with no product links.

So high quality with 60 htz support, preferably internal.

The kworld capture card, they used it at XL and has both Composite and S-Video input, ?30.

Well it's not giving you problems its you who can't work it obviously because they got them working fine at XL. Try the mercury card then, www.mercury-pc.com but if you can't get the k-world working then I doubt you'll get this going. Another way to go would be the Dazzle 170 Video recorder (not the dvd version).
