Had one last night "LordHackov83"......he's ranked around the 64000 mark compared to my paltry 150000(now 122000 or thereabouts :) yes I am chuffed with that) and I go 1 up with 5 mins gone of the second half....next thing I know he's in the pause menu and the feckin timer runs out.........freeze mode:mad:
I remembered that handy tip though I seen the other day here on MB and quickly set my status to OFFLINE, he disconnects and I emerge victorious!!!!:D

Ive given up on ranked now. Well kind of. I use it as more of a testing ground for other teams. I have used Tottenham quite a lot in ranked, and other teams that I wouldn't necessarily have used before during ranked.

Recently I have been trying to find myself a good competitive team to use during Pesrankings tournaments, so have been using a number of different teams from the top lot, in an attempt to find a team that I like better than Chelsea. (Bored of them) I think it has come down to Juventus or Real Madrid.. Not the most similar of teams I know!

I alsmot beat his czech republic team with sweden yesterday, but my ****ish defender willhelmson + big fat koller decided to bundle the ball into the back of my net in the 90+ minute. Great one guys.

Yeah i suppose, but Spain don't have any good pacey wingers imo. You only really get anywhere with Spain if you play through the center of the park (even then their quite slow imo) - which is too difficult when its crowded with Czech's :D.

Koller is a giant, he's slow though so use it to your advantage ;) willhelmson in defence, did you do auto sort? sometimes that Pancakes up your players and stratergies.

Game 1: kHz IcemanLeigh [Portugal] 1-0 Hursti [Serbia and Mont.]
Close game, I managaed to get fairly lucky goal. Good break, managed to get Pauleta one on one with the keeper, the keeper got a touch but didnt get enough and the ball still managed to slowly trickle into the net.

Game 2: kHz IcemanLeigh [Portugal] 5-3 Hursti [Serbia and Mont.]
Again, very close game. The first 20 minutes was an absolute goal fest. 2-2 very quickly, end to end stuff for a while, was even 3-2 within 30 minutes i think (scored an immense diving header with Deco..). Then managed to gain a bit of control, went 4-2 up, then Hursti pegged one back to 4-3 before I got Pauleta through for a one on one, went round the keeper and got tripped. Keeper got a red and I scored the penatly.

We were playing another which was 0-0 after about 70 ish minutes but unfortuantly i guess Hursti got disconnected. Both teams had chances. Hurst probably the best chance which somehow his player managed to put wide from about 4 yards out..

Sorry about not having a mic! Unfortunatly I must have taken my brothers back to uni with me which he will find very funny I am sure. Will hopefully pic up my own mic on friday when I am back home for the night..

Good games though, Serbia cant be the easiest team to play with I am sure. Although they arnt complete trollop, a few chances did go begging which another team may have put in.. (Although Ronaldo missed his share for me..)

But in the last game, my router went off on one and decided to restart itself :confused: which, if it didn't happen, would have seen me win ;) lol only joking, it was very close.

A lot of spare chances in both matches that should not have been missed by both teams.

Just be aware of Leigh's defence, they seem more or less unbeatable. Every time I got up the field, his defence always held their line and took the ball off me. I scored from a few lucky breaks but that was it really.

I think my third goal was quite a good one, I just got pissed of with not being able to get passed his defence, I took a shot from bout 20 yards out which rocketed into the top corner...but I was beat by a better player on the night.

Oh and I had a couple of games with Nimac1 over the last couple of days.

Very close game, I only won because his children distracted him :rolleyes: lol good excuse if you ask me...but I was definitely lucky to get my second goal in.

Game 2 - Hursti [Serbia and Montenegro] 6-0 NIMAC1 [Germany]
I have to say, his keeper had a shocker. I think the correct term would be Butter Fingers. Couldn't catch a single ball and in all fairness was closer than the scoreline suggests.

Game 3 - Hursti [Serbia and Montenegro] 4-2 NIMAC1 [France] AET
Best game I have had with him yet, Went behind early in the first half with a scorcher from Zidane, hitting the underside of the crossbar and going in, keeper had no chance. I then levelled and went behind again. I eventually managed to get the scores level and got a couple of goals in extra time. I think he got a little bit pissed off as well as he ended up getting Thuram sent off from being the last man. If i remember correctly, here area few quotes. "This is getting to be more like a rugby score" and "That's it, I think you've scored enough" lol. Top guy and great games.

Oh yea forgot about that, was a great goal! was trying my hardest to fiddle with the mic so i could tell you what a great strike it was lol.

Personally on pro evo 6, ive always prided myself on defense. From the first day i got the game i wanted to be good defensively and have always attempted to be good at that. Im usually quite good at spotting players making runs and what not. Unfortunatly though i do find it harder online to do than offline, so occasionally the slow response throws me off and il let through howlers which look embarrasing lol.

I still need to add a few people, was testing the water with Hursti and he has beaten me too many times already.
Anyway following on from Hursti's other thread with his take on the games :D Top bloke.

Game 1(2-0)
Serbia v Spain - I thought I did pretty well and although the kids were a minor distraction I was beaten by the better team on the day :) Enuff said.

Game 2(6-0)
Serbia v Germany(aka the Duffers!!):cool:
I didn't play that badly and put the sorry affair down to my goalie Scwharz or should I say Shitz. Hursti quickly cottoned on to how crap he actually was and merrily fired balls in from distance at will for my old mate Fumbles to spill all over the place, Keznan and crew happily lapped these up. Scwharz certainly not the Adriano of goal keepers !!!

Game 3(4-2)
Serbia v France
This was my opportunity to salvage something and in all honesty a draw would have been a fair result. I'm sure Hursti would admit the 4-2 was flattering. Zidane scored two belters but then missed an open goal from just outside the 18 yard box..............I couldn't believe it :confused: The Thuram red card incident was mainly to get away from a 5-2 finish and also because the wife was making some facial gestures in the corner :) Think it was time for America's next top model :rolleyes:

Probably the closest game ive ever played on pro evo lol. Both of us got somewhat lucky goals near the start of the match and from there on it was just an unbelieveably tight match with neither of us able to score. Pauleta had a couple of chances late on in extra time which on another day I possibly would have put away.. It would have helped if Cech wasnt in goal as well.. ;)

Game 2: kHz IcemanLeigh [Portugal] 2 - 0 kHz Corkin [Czech Republic]

Managed to win in the second game! My first goal was fairly lucky. I pressed forward onto corkins defence like I always do when he had the ball at the back. Managed to get an interception, which is usually considered lucky. Held my nerve though, knocked it past one defender, rounded the keeper and scored. Managed to keep corkin quiet for most of the game, didnt really give him any room to work with going forward, and Koller saw very little of the ball. Then managed to get a corner which i think was possibly headed in by corkins own player..
Cech was unbelieveable in goal though, even when you round him he still manages to get up quickly and pull off superb saves. Every one on one chance that i had was saved. Tried going round which didnt work, tried sliding it under, tried going over. Very difficult to score against.
Koller is an absolute monster to have in the box as well. Very difficult to defend against on corners, and I was very happy to keep him from scoring. Definitely a good weapon to have though

Some great games though. As said before, hopefully will get my mic back on friday..

Just been playing with Nimac1.

First game:

Nimac - Liverpool Me - Arsenal

Score 0-3

A few decent goals, a fairly dominated match. A couple of near misses from Ste Gerrard.

Game 2:

Nimac - France Me - Sweden

Result: 2-1

A game I really didn't deserve to lose. First 15 mins of the game was all in nimac's box and nothing was going into that net. Breakthrough finally came at the 43rd minute with the best free kick I have ever done. About 25 yards out, curling from left to right, hitting the post and going in top left hand corner. Brilliant. I then scored my best own goal ever, a cross comes in from nimac and the keeper runs out to collect but misses, then my player manages to head it in from the tightest angle in the world. The game was finished off in the 83rd minute by an Henry slotted finish.

Game 3:

France - Sweden.

1 - 2

Started off with an own goal by nimac, game was fairly average but I came on top with the win.

Game 4:

France - Sweden

2-3

Nimac kicks off and I steal the ball immediately and score in the second minute, nimac hits back with henry and scores in the 5th. My 2nd goal, now that was a beauty. Ibrahimovic runs from the half way line, shrugging off two defenders all the way. Then smashes it into the top left hand corner to make the score 2-2. The game goes into extra time and I manage to get a goal half way through to win the game.

Game five:

Nimac - Northern Ireland Me - England (Battle of our nationalities)

Result: 1-4

Two penalties by me, two fairly average goals to make it up to 1-3. Then a spectacular goal in the last minute by joe cole to end my night on a high. The ball is lobbed down the left wing from the left back which joe cole takes down beautifully and proceeds into the box where he curls the ball into the bottom right hand corner.

Good games nimac, good player. Sound guy too. I can't remember some of nimac's goals but he did score a good couple, he might explain if he comes on here. Had a good time on pro evo. :D

It wasn't with the goalkeeper was it? :D For those of you who don't already know the other day i was playing Gaskin on Pro Evo and he got a free kick pretty far out from the goal, he took it with his goalkeeper and it hit the bar :eek:

Yes outplayed in this one although was unfortunate not to have at least one goal, Crouchy missed a sitter and Stevie G should have finished one as well!

I think I always had this one in the bag, great defending from the French or should I say Thuram! The free kick was indeed an absolute belter however in my opinion the own goal was even better, the angle was more acute than an acute thing; how he managed to get it in I'll never know, the old 360 servers must have had an issue at the point in the game. Gaskin wasn't fully focused I feel for the remainder of the match as he was overjoyed by that free kick but shellshocked by the wonderous own goal :)

Game 3
Frogs(Un) v Suedes(Deux)
Fairly tight one, the server was addressing the own goal deficit from the last game and the French defence was all over the shop!!!

Game 4
Les Bleu(2) v Larsson(3)!!!
Think a draw would have been a fair result, I thought Ibra scored in the other game? Was this not the Larsson hatrick game Gask, either way felt hard done by in this one. Played pretty well and could see a draw but it wasn't to be. Great game though.

Game 5
Norn Iron(1) v England(4)
Home Nations fixture, no excuses but the Irish outfit are crap on PES to be honest, I was kind of hoping for a Windsor Park revisited, I'm sure those big into their football will remember the previous encounter :) Just in case anyone forgot or missed it!!!

Great games Gask, thought I did well against the better player, pity things haven't been going that well on ranked, I'm sure it has a mind of it's own or else I am losing the plot!!!

Best ranked victory at the weekend was agains EvilStepquick, this guys favourite word for the game was "*****", he picked Brazil for probably the 100th time so I mirrored that, let's just say it went to extra time and Nimac let loose on the mic after the winning goal went in with 5 mins of the 2nd E.T slot remaining...................HAHA :) Loved it.

and whats wrong with using 4-2-4? its just 4-4-2 with wingers instead of overly defensive side midfielders

Well I just see 4-2-4 formations as being a bit unsporting and I'm sure a poll was done to confirm this. But if that's the formation you want to use then use it. I just generally feel it's a cheap way to win.

I think it was more of a consensus on pes5 that 4-2-4, or any other 4 striker combination was ridiculous and very cheap. I have never found it to be as good on pes6 though. It is definitely good on the counter attack, and going forward it provides good options, but you are left completely stranded out on the wings behind your 'forward wingers' giving the opposition ALOT of space and time work with. Balances out fairly well. I would definitely fancy my chances against anyone using a 4 striker formation anyway put it that way.

Just played Neokubrick and used Arsenal which was nice as I've been using national teams for ages now. Went back to my old team and it's good to be back!

Game 1:

kHz Gaskin 2 - 0 NeoKubrick. It started with awful lag, but eventually cleared. This was possibly the best game I've ever had, it was fun, tight and quite equal. The scoreline shouldn't have been 2-0, I scored in the 86th and 88th minute with a lucky van persie shot inside the box and a brilliant through ball to henry from Neo's center for Henry to finish off. A really close game and anyone could have won it.

Game 2:

DNF (kHz Gaskin 0 - 1 NeoKubrick)

Well Neo scored with a lush van persie lob just before half time to make it 1-0 and I had G.Silva sent off. (Then Neo brought on poom for lauren, I'm guessing to make it a bit more even). Then with 60 minutes gone the game went back to it's laggy state and disconnected us both.

Really good games though, most fun games I've had in ages. Look forward to playing you at XL?

Just trying to re-ignite the touch paper on this thread as well. I'm still always on the lookout to play some friendlies as I can take a beating from better players but I hate that Godamn rankings system.........it reeks of AI bollox every match even the ones I win.
Anyway I digress....last night I played 3 matches with Renegade, the first two were easy victories for the big lad(according to the fat thread :)!!) but the last match I genuinely think I had him under a bit of pressure(he'll no doubt confirm or deny)

Spain(Renegade) v England (Nimac)
The game was a pretty tight affair throughout with England taking the lead twice, only for Spain to draw level and take the match to extra time. By this stage England were on the backfoot as I was down to 10 men. Going into extra time with some swift re-organisation in the form of the brute that is Sol Campbell the defence was tightened up again and things didn't look that bad. Right at the death the immense Rooney hit a wonder shot which shook the stadium foundations never mind Casillas post. Renegade was glad to see the Go to Penalties prompt...I wasn't.
The game ended with a Spanish win 5-4 as Walcott blasted over, the silly little........

"What is it with England and penalties?"

Absolutely stunning game that Spain/England one.

Like Nimac said, three games last night.

West Ham (Renegade) 3-0 Liverpool (Nimac)

A good start to my night having just come from a 13-0 ranked win against some Inter noob. I always enjoy playing against Nimac, he is a wicked laugh and thinks PES is bollocks, same as me :D This game opened very quickly, with a blinding Tevez run to the box - his shot rebounded out to the wing, and a cross from Benayoun landed square on Tevez's bonce, to direct past a flailing keeper from a tight angle. Nimac hit back hard, putting pressure on the Hammers defense, but a skied shot from Robbie Fowler saw the best chance wasted. The game became the Tevez show, the quick feet of the Argentinian being too much for an aging defense, and a sharp run saw Tev loop a tame shot towards Reina which seemed to go through him to make it 2-0. In the dying seconds Tevez was again set free, but Alonso pegged back to catch up, and whilst a Liverpool defense concentrated on Tevez, the ball was squared to Harewood in acres of space to slot into an empty net.

Blackburn (Renegade) 2-0 Galatasaray (Nimac)

A game that saw the Galatasaray keeper on fire and a strike force failing to take chances. The first half was all Galatasaray, who narrowly missed the target at every opportunity, and a quick breakaway saw Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy hit the post, only for good old PES randomness to take over, at which point a Galatasaray defender stumbled over the ball and rolled it into his own net. Nimac was rocked, it was so against the run of play. Blackburn came out strong in the second half but Jason Roberts couldn't put his chances away - until the 70th minute, when the ball landed at his feet on the edge of the box near the by-line. Roberts faked to cut inside, but swivelled and hit a fierce drive straight at the keepers head - who politely ducked out of the way and gave Blackburn a 2-0 victory.

Spain (Renegade) 2-2 England (Nimac) - Spain win 4-3 on penalties

Best game of the night, by far. Went for an untested formation using Raul and Torres much further back than usual, with Villa leading on his own - trying to take advantage of through balls due to being faster than the England defense. It failed miserably. England had Spain on the back foot straight away, and took the lead after 7 minutes, when Rooney sidestepped in the box and the Spanish defense obliged in bringing him face first onto the grass. Lampard stepped up and drilled the ball down the middle, to take a 1-0 lead. A quick formation change from the Spain manager, and the game was much closer. The England defense was on top form though, and it took until 43 minutes for Spain to equalise, with Villa latching on to a Xavi through ball to slot the ball past Robinson. The second half started in similar vain to the first - England putting masses of pressure on Spain, with Rooney hitting the post and only a fine Casillas save stopping Owen from getting a goal. England did manage to get that goal though, after 75 minutes when Rooney caught hold of a sqaure ball, to round the Spanish defense and slot the ball home. The game was turned on it's head within 5 minutes though... First, straight from kickoff Spain managed to get the equaliser, a ball centred to Alonso who smashed it goalwards - Robinson managing to get fingertips on it but couldn't stop it hitting the back of the net. Spain had their second wind, and Villa was unleashed with a fine long ball from defense, through on goal. Just about to pull the trigger, and Nimac confirmed what I had thought would happen - Rio Ferdinand taking the Spaniards legs, sending him crashing. England were down to ten men. Although Nimac was not too happy when I had a trick up my sleeve... 'Extra time is on you know' - 'ah ****' came the reply.

So to extra time. England with ten men made a formational switch to a 4-3-2 formation, with big Sol Campbell taking the place of Lampard, and Walcott replacing Rooney. Spain brought on Joaquin, in the hope that the added pace would be too much for England. Joaquin instantly got the ball and took the entire England defense on, getting to the box and smashing a glorious right footed drive... wide. Then came a mad minute, in the final minute of Extra time. A long ball came across the Spanish defense, and bounced over everyone. Beckham latched onto the ball on the corner of the six yard box, and hit the most powerful shot I have ever seen on PES. It sailed past Casillas who floundered, and smacked straight into that lovely white post. It came back to Gerrard, who crossed the ball back in - a header from Owen was fumbled by Casillas, who parried the ball, which bounced onto the post and back into his arms. I was grinning from ear to ear, my heart was pounding.

The whistle blew. I was relived to be alive.

Villa stepped up. 1-0.
Owen took the next. 1-1.
Up stepped Raul. Missed. 1-1.
Next was Beckham. 1-2.
Torres next. 2-2.
Walcott was confident. Blazed over the bar! 2-2. After 3 each.
Fabregas concentrated. 3-2.
Gerrard was unstoppable. 3-3.
Now for Xavi... the ball hit the post, rebounded back, hit Robinson on the back, and slowly trickled over the line... 4-3 and England had to score.
Up stepped Joe Cole. The keeper stared back. It was now or never.

Joe Cole took the penalty, a fierce drive.

Casillas didn't move, he stood still in the middle.

The ball rocketed straight down the middle, Casillas battering the ball out! Spain were heroes!

What a game. Not played a game that good in absolutely ages, nice one! Hopefully more to come, Nimac is awesome to play against, a proper good laugh.

HAHA! Nimac has to be the most unlucky player at this game...ever.

Game 1:

Nimac1 (Everton) 2 - 4 Hursti (Pompey)

Well this match started off pretty even, possession was shared, both attempts we pretty poor...the in the last 10-15 mins of the first half, a great cross was put into the Everton area with Lua Lua waiting for the perfect chance to try out his new and improved diving header. 0-1. Within minutes, the game was 0-2 thanks to a great shot by Benjani. first half ended with Pompey being 2 up. Second half kicked off and Portsmouth wasted no time in scoring another goal...an exact replica of the first in fact making it 0-3. It was clear that Nimac had lost all concentration as he went 4 down by another goal from the hattrick hero Lua Lua. He faught back though. A goal with Beattie (I think it was) and then another late on with substitute AJ. However it was too late, the damage was done.

Game 2:

Nimac1 (Czech Republic) 0 - 0 Hursti (Latvia)<---- I opted to do a random selection :)

This game was, overall, poor. Especially when it came to the finishing. The Czech's barely had a chance on goal...2 if I remember correctly, whilst the Latvians had the attempt after attempt at the other side of the pitch, not troubling the keeper though. The best shot of the game came from the Czechs though as a great ball lofted over the top, landed at the feet of Poborsky (I think)...thinking hewas offside, Nimac shot, not knowing that he was onside. However the ball floated past the keeper, only to be turned away by the top of the post. Game went into extra time only to see a whole lot of nothing happen again.

Game 3:

Nimac1 (Everton) 1 - 3 Hursti (Blackburn)

This was by far the unluckiest game of the night...day, whatever. Again, it was all square, possession was about equal, then it happened. Beattie managed to get a shot in on goal, Friedel could only parry it in the air, Beattie chased the ball...an open net...the ball landed 2 yards from goal...surely it had to be. But no, Beattie thought he was in the wrong game and decided to hit it way above the goal posts only to realise too late that it was actually football and not rugby he was playing. However, he did take the lead with a fabulous strike from Andy Johnson. Blackburn had a fight on their hands. But they managed to turn the game around scoring two in quick succession and adding final insult with the third not long after. Goal of the game for me would have to be McCarthy's. He stole the ball in Everton's box, ran almost to the byline and shot...and had there been no one there, would have probably hit the corner flag...but Howard was within a couple of feet from him, dove over the ball giving it just enough spin to land straight in the middle of the net. Great goal lol.

I have to say, probably the most fun I've had on this game in ages...look forward to a couple more friendlies to whoever is up for some :).

Absolutely mental game, I took the lead after 8 mins with a Sheva header that the keeper couldn't stop, and Neo equalised less than 2 minutes later. I took the lead again after 17 minutes and again Neo equalised with a random as you like goal where the keeper and defender ran into eachother, both fell over, and left the ball in the middle of the six yard box on its own. Then I scored 2 quick goals which were also very random, caused by the ball bobbling around the AC Milan box and defenders falling over it, then after 10 minutes longer I scored my 5th. Neo got one more back, and I hit my 6th in the 83rd minute.

Very strange game, some utterly absurd goals.

Yep. Only three goals (two of Shev's and one of mine) were not as a result of deflections, players falling down, etc. Good game all the same.

We thought lets do a old firm derby and after like 12 mins prso scored a rocket lol i thought bloody hell lol then again another great shot from some rangers legend hehe and rebounded in :P then he scored and said heres comes the comeback ohhh nooo baby i scored again, then he let prso score his hat trick by dropping the ball in front of me then fouling me in the box haha was funny :)

To sum up Hursti whipped my ass last night.... 4 games and I got drubbed in everyone.
I have no excuses other than combined with a little PES randomness and my **** tactics I was hammered!!!! :mad:

Just felt the need to post up my last run in with the Renegade :)
I can't remember all the results as typically the beatings are easy to forget but I did manage my first win against him yesterday.
Granted I was playing with Chelsea! R'gade may confirm what team he played with, I was too overjoyed with the win.
The last game was also very tight but ended with a 3-1 scoreline to Renegade although he did admit to feeling the pressure at one point against the amateur Nimac.

Just played a few games with Renegade...and I'm never playing him again :) lol. For some reason, I had no luck which is so unlike me...but anyways, good games.

Highlight of the matches for me was the goal I scored with Bordeaux...pure class :D.

Yeah, that's all correct. The last match was a F'd up - his shots in the first half were into the twenties, yet he couldn't get a single one in - it took an absolutely blinding curler from outside the box, which curled around the keeper and into the far corner. Stunning goal. After that, it was the Cisse show, with the former Liverpool striker scoring a hat trick to put the game beyong Bordeaux. Crazy game!

Good player, enjoyed playing Hursti in the League, and even more so to use some lesser teams online. Cheers dude.
