Now that the second SOTF competition is almost over we've seen 2 very different formats regarding submission and voting. The question is what would you like to see us use for future SOTF competitions?

As in competition number 1: open submission with everyone aware who made which entry.

As in competition number 2: anonymous submission via PM with no one knowing who made which entries.

There has been very little interest in the second SOTF competition which could also be due to the theme chosen, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the format flopped.

Please vote and leave any additional feedback in the thread. Remember, this competition is about how you want it!

I think its just a quiet period during the Easter holidays tbh so pretty sure it will pick up again...I think anonymous is better btw

Yeah, i really dont see how option 1 could be better.

Anonymous submission FTW, it's fair for everybody and stops people complaining :)

Anonymous submission won't stop some guy telling his buddies (via IM or in person) to "vote for entry number whatever, nudge, nudge, wink, wink".

I guess it would stop people deliberately not voting for an entry because they dislike its creator, though. (Not that we've any reason to believe that that has (or will) happened.)

I don't see what could be gained from option 1, so I'm also voting for option 2.

So, that's settled then, everyone bar me and one other person wants anonymous entries. Fair enough.

Are you happy with the winner choosing the next theme or would you like to see that decided by staff?

You could opt for somewhere in the middle.

Have the staff offer about three different themes, and the winner gets to choose one of them.

Quickest n easiest way would be to have the winner pick a game related theme. Minimum fuss. Jobs a good un.

That sounds good to me.

If the winner isn't allowed to select the next theme, then what would make people want to win? Torrance's idea FTW

Yeah, exactly Bonzo. It's just that there were criticisms in another thread regarding the winner choosing the theme.
