Hi Peeps

I am please to announce our first official Pesrankings online event.

THIS EVENT IS FOR REGULARS ONLY... OTHER EVENTS WILL BE MADE FOR NEW SITE USERS, BUT ONLY WHEN WE HAVE GAINED ENOUGH INTEREST.

Format

Upto 64 players permitted to enter

League based - home and away

National Teams - duplicates allowed - you must use the same team throughout the event.

Match Length: 10 minutes

Condition: Normal

Weather: summer, fine and day



We are not in a position to create a portal at the moment, so I am going to have to do it this way..... SORRY :)

If you want to take part, please post your Rankings Username and and 360 Gamertag in here and I will add you to the event on rankings ( which is password to protected to prevent Rankings whores trying to enter )

I am hoping that this event will kick off near the end of April, if we get all 64 players then the event will run over quite a few months, to ensure you all have ample to time to complete your fixtures.

Just let me run this first event... I have had a turn quite few people away and letting more in will cause me grief... you all have enough official events on pesfan...

Excuse me, you cannot exactly say that they will "potentially" hammer us as you haven't seen us play, and probably they play to win whereas most of us lot just join these comps as fun...hence why the regulars wont all be using England's and Brazil's unlike most of the people from PESFan.

I'm happy for these people to join now as I feel that the regulars have had long enough to sign up for the event...all I ask for is a little browsing around the site and maybe a few posts here and there wont go amiss :)

He simply means he doesnt want experienced PES6 players that play regularly on rankings to come here and take over a tournament whereby some casual PES6 players from the MatchBox360 community (like myself) would get completely battered n ruin the fun of taking part in the event.

Obviously we have some very highly skilled players on MatchBox360 who would "potentially" give a good beating to any player from PESfan, but for ppl like myself a long league wouldnt be very enjoyable if I was gettin beat 10-0 every game! Its all about balance, gettin this first event on the go and making more events available in future with an active PES community on MatchBox360. Hope that makes sense. :cool:

I'm looking forward to this event, should be good fun. I enjoy playing against better players even if i lose by a large margin. I just like to play for the fun of it, when i do play pes.

So if all you guys are like this, and don't take it too seriously (obviously healthy rivalry is good) then it should be a very open and great tournament:)

Well the majority of us "regulars" don't take it too seriously and to prove it, you will see a lot of the teams that no-one else plays with. It's all about fun really, and I so want to win the n00bs...yes n00bs that use Brazil and England...no skill needed to win with them. Bring on the league :D

Hursti - I agree about Brazil, they can score by shooting from anywhere. But as a primary England player in International events, it does still take a little skill to overturn a class player.

They obviously do have the 'slag' factor to them, but you at least have to be in the right position to score with England, unlike 'shoot and hope' Brazil!

It's pretty similar but not quite the same. Inter Milan only have a few good players that can shoot from anywhere...such as Adriano and Ibrahimovic, whereas Brazil have...Adriano, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Robinho, Roberto Carlos etc. All they have great shots. and are much fatser than most other players on the game.

Yeah its obviously standard for Brazil to be the best team on any football game for obvious reasons (ie they have arguably the best players in the world). The fact remains though is that its personal choice whether you use them or not, but you do gain respect for using lesser teams as was clearly the case at XL.

Personally, I don't mind if a player can score from almost anywhere, because I shouldn't give him a free shot at goal anyway. I hate those players that bulldoze through my players, unfairly. And there's no greater example of this than with Inter (Adriano, Vieria et al.) and Netherlands (Van, Vennegoor, and Kuyt).

Well, PES tips the balance somewhat in that if you pressure the player while he's taking the shot, you're reducing his accuracy dramatically. In my experience, I've never had a problem with players shooting and scoring from almost anywhere, because, as I've said, I usually never give them a free-shot at goal (id est I usually have a player pressuring the player or in front of the player). I find the bulldozers worse.
