I really want to attend, but the combination of International Teams, Duplicates, and Max Condition settings are really putting me off.

Also, April is an extremely busy month for me, not to mention it's a three hour drive to Birmingham and the same back is a killer...

*edit* And of course, if I was to attend any offline event, I would happily introduce myself to, and shake hands with, BARR2K. My post in the other thread was a reaction to an extremely bad day and, whilst I still stand by every comment I made, wish to make clear that there were no bad intentions and that a difference of opinion is always welcome.

Fair enough dude :)

I understand what you are saying about match condition/teams etc.

But because they are official offline events we have to give everyone a fair crack of the whip, meaning no random arrows and bans on teams...

Even though I like random teams etc myself, making such a rule in a High K event would lose us quite a few players...

I do however have a few things in the mix regarding future online events which will involve random game factors... but before that happens I need to concentrate on building up the profile and user base of matchbox pes events :)

If I can be there Kon, I will. Will definitely be attending the next XL. I spoke to you at the last XL but it probably wasn't obvious who I was, as I was introduced to XL by another person and signed up here shortly before the event began. But like I said, when I'm next in the vicinity, I'll make myself known!

hopefully the number of players that sign up, turn up, was disappointing before when we though we were gonna have a big event on our hands, and yet we had less than half or something close to that, should be good to see some new faces, gets kinda old playing the same people every month, lol.

There are some very good mods on board that use common sense :)

I don't know what it's been like in the month since I was banned, but there were too many mods along the lines of 'I have the power and Im determined to use it'.

Watson is an absolute joke of a mod, and basically punishes anyone that doesn't stick up for his friends there, YBNB was a quality member and became 'strange' soon as he had 'referee' written under his name (you can literally see when he is in a bad mood). Andio was excellent, JB1K was a legend, Adam was great, and I don't know about Durham Hatter or OldBoiler as I didn't see anything of them before I was removed.

Basically, if you're associated with PESRankings, an official of PESFan, or you name is Rob Mclean, you can get away with absolute murder with no repurcussions. If you're anyone else you're screwed if you so much as look over the line once. There are so many double standards there it's painful to see.

What made it apparent to me is that since I was banned, I received no less than 6 different emails from regular PESFanners mentioning an agenda against me from the very start. They didn't like me, and were waiting for the one opportunity to get rid of me. The thing is, it wasn't me that pointed it out - it was everyone else.

I might do Farrmark :p

Quick question - where is there to park near Gamestation, and what is the pricing to park like? Just want to make sure it's worth driving, or whether I should take the train.

KONSPIRACY
23-04-2007, 11:51 AM
I'm thinkin the same thing renegade.

The closest would be the Pallasades, but theres loads of car parks nearby. It would prob be cheaper by train tbh, but I'll find out some pricing info n let you know asap

Farrmark
23-04-2007, 02:29 PM
Train would be best IMO :)

However, the BullRing carpark is just as close, but on a Sunday there'll be plenty of free street parking available I think....

I definitely won't be there now, Christening is over in Oldbury and isn't going to finish until late evening :(

KONSPIRACY
23-04-2007, 04:06 PM
Just spoke to Birmingham City Council and on street parking is free all day Sunday. Just make sure you go in the pay and display areas, and avoid the single or double yellow lines. Obviously read the meters in that area and see if there are any restrictions on time.

Alternatively you can expect to pay upto ?12 for either the Bullring or Pallasades car parks (Edgbaston Street is slightly cheaper at ?8 apparently).

Just attended a PES Rankings offline event in Dublin (HMV Tour) on Friday. It was a good laugh, actually, but I'm growing a dislike of playing with international teams - the stats are too high. The games were too fast-paced, especially as condition was green and the games were only five minutes in length. Great event anyway, and some sound players too.

I've also noticed that HDTVs aren't up-to-scratch (the ones we used anyway). Yeah, excellent picture when it was static, but once that camera moves around, it's very blurry. I've always preferred a CRT monitor to play on: sharp picture and still produces a sharp picture while the camera is moving (cheaper in most cases too).

Good luck with the event.

Yeah me, leigh and Ben were in the same group. They changed it from top 4 to top 2 progressing and I was tied and 2nd. Lost on goal difference, which is a bit annoying considering I beat the guy who came 2nd. Well played Ben, sad to hear you lost in the final.

Edit: Just found out the guy who came second in fact had 20 points and I had 18. He told me he had 18! I blame Ben for not beating him. ;)

Yea great to meet you Ben. I am fairly pleased with a first match 2-2 result with you since you pretty much destroyed everyone else in the group. Definitely had fun, did enjoy the underdog nature of playing as England, and now I am practiced with them I am looking forward to the next event.

I was so tempted to use Portugal as well.. ;) If only they had a goal scorer.

30-04-2007, 08:21 PM
I only lost 3-1 to Ayzee in the group. :p

In all fairness, I had a huge feeling he would win - out of everyone there, apart from the guys from Matchbox he was the only one I had heard of. Funny thing was - when I started the game, I says 'Ayzee, I know you!' he says 'are you Renegade?' - I was like 'yeah man' so he says 'RenegadeDS? You're a PESFan legend!'.

I was like :D I know you!

Wicked day, bit annoyed by the change from 4 players to 2, but had a great laugh with Kon, Gaskin and Leigh, and was fully supporting Kon during his 7-0 thrashing from Holland :p

GAY BAG FTW!
