1. The lancer has become slightly more powerful.
2. You can now stun and enemy that's running at you with Grenades, just if they had a lancer. (Brilliant)
3. After you've downed someone twice and they get up, when you shoot them for the third time and they go down they just die. I'm guessing this is to stop the point whores, but it can be quite easy to kill someone from afar with the sniper by doing this. *Active reload, he's down..as he gets back up active reload, he's down again.. as he gets back up third active reload, he dies..
4. There's a disconnecting problem which happens quite frequently when one person is laggy and the game stops and the option to quit comes up, it doesn't come out of this screen untill someone quits or the game finally boots someone.
5. It no longer says the Host's name whilst searching for a game, they're just titled 'host'.

Edit: found this on the epic forums. I think my number 1 is faulty, but the rest of mine are correct.

I believe they're trying to change the host shotgun too....

They need to totally reinvent the shotgun on Gears, every shot is a mini game of roulette.

Wouldn't that mean introducing a brand new script into the game to fix the shotgun? That means bigger loading times. Also wouldn't the only way to 'fix' the host shotgun be to lower it's power for the host of the game? What if it's lowered too much, that means more updates to fix a now broken game. Epic said they didn't spend much time on it's multi player aspects maybe that should just keep it the way it is, it's hugely popular among the xbox live community, why not leave it be and look forward to the next game where they get a fresh start?

You do know the big secret of the shotgun is to aim at the legs rather than chest/head (unless you are damn good) get a down straight off as long as you are reasonably close and then one in the head as you get closer gets the kill.

Playing ranked with mates is still relatively easy, just requires a little more co-ordination than before. If you are going to try it though, you're in for the long haul. I was online from about 10 till 1 and I got three games (alright so one of them was 45 minutes, but still...).

Other than that though, nothing from the patch made me want to burn the disc there an then, so it's not that bad, and there were still many obligatory shouts of 'Bollocks!.

Nothing's changed that really changes the dynamic of the game..
