Hi Peeps,
I thought I would post abit about Pesrankings and go over some issues that you may be interested in.
Pesrankings is Konami's Official Pro Evolution Soccer National Event.
It is based on an ELO system, whereby any user can create online or offline events on a number of formats and can play against other users. Every result that you enter will contribute to your overall ranking.
The competition is a year long event ( well 11 months but who's counting ;) ) and starts from October and ends on September 1st the following year :)
At the end of the season, the top 32 players on Rankings get invited to partake in a end of season event, where it is quite possible that if you win and finish in the overall top 2 places on Rankings you will be representing the UK in the Pes European Championships :)
How do I rise up the ladder?
Most people would automatically think that the more games you play, the more points you will get, but that is not strictly true. Yes it does help if you do get involved in events, but the real way to rise up the table is what types of events you enter and who you are playing against.
Types of event
Main point other than online or offline
OFFICIAL OR UNOFFICIAL
Any user on the Pesrankings site can create unofficial multiformat online or offline events. These are events that hold very little K ( event value )
Official Events have different values.
For example the events I run have the following values.
Official Online 8K
Official Offline 16K
These are the maximum K Event that an Admin can achieve at present.
There are much higher K value events, but these values are only used in very high profile events, like the final event which is normally based at an uber 48K
What I am bringing to you
Basically I am giving you the chance to compete in Official offline and online events and get a chance at becoming one of the OFFICIALLY recognised best players in the UK.
At present Pesrankings has a low amount of Official 360 events and to be prefectly honest, I am the only admin in mainland UK that is making any effort whatsoever to encourage these events on a regular basis.
I have already ran official online and offline events for 360 and I am now looking to take it to the next level and get more of the 360 community involved in Pesrankings Events.
It may appear to many of you, that PesRankings are biased towards the PS2 community...
This is not Konami's or Pesrankings intention. Its basically down to the fact that for some reason only a small minority of 360 pes players actually get involved with the site... All of us here can change that and basically with the community that we have here, we can take Rankings by storm and show that the 360 Pes community is just as serious and just as skillful as our PS2 cousins :)
I play on both PS2 and 360 Pes and I believe the 360 version is the harder to master and takes real skill to achieve success against quality players... unlike the PS2 version where any old Jack can cutback his way to victory ;)
With the majority of the Large High K events this year taking place on the 360, the ball is very much in the court of the 360 player and now is your time to start playing in some official events and getting yourself up that table.
Konspiracy and myself believe that with the right approach and organisation, Matchbox could be the home of the largest Pes 360 gaming community in the UK and make a real impact on Rankings.
Sorry for such a long post, but I felt it was important to paint a full picture :)
Regards
Matt
