Does anyone else really lose a lot of their motivation to play this game? I see it as 2 very simple steps here.
1: Did you buy XBL in order to play with your friends against other groups of peers in a competitive environment?
2: Does Gears/MS allow you to do that without leaving a bad taste in your mouth?
I am becoming increasingly fed up with XBL and how developers use it or however MS lets them use it. Each new game I try out or play seems more broken than the last in multiplayer section.

The fact that I would rather play BF2 than any new game that has come out recently pretty much sums up what I think of XBL at the minute. Whether its cos I havent played them enough, but both GoW n RB6V really dont do it for me...I even found myself on Halo2 the other night ffs!

I can't even begin to describe how angry I get about it.
Did no one stop once during the whole creation process and say "Guys, I think it would be neat if they could change game options in the pregame lobby without backing up, losing everyone, spending 20 seconds remaking the room and 15 hours inviting people on the criminally slow guide". No they didnt. Why would they? Afterall they have only been making online competitive games for ~ 10 years.
My guess is that you "Cant" change options because the game has to sit there loading in the map in the background whilst you are in lobby, changing the map would presumably cause it to rebuild the new map in a very ugly manner behind you.

It is complete and utter arg.
Meh and snake played some games last night, low and behold the update hit us, ok sweet let's try it out. Hmmm nade tag distance is satisfyingly small erm, what else, oooo connection wise our bullets aren't lagging anymore, ok now let's join someone else.
Uk...
Aww dude this is sweet it feels like I got host shotgun haha, wait everyone has, ok its all good.
Hmm ok let's try US...
OMFG THEY HAVE EVEN MORE OF AN ADVANTAGE!!
We were getting slaughtered in one shot with a shotgun whilst we put 3 into them before they had even fired. Yummmmmaaaaaay!
Resort to the lancer and pistol, hmmm lancer seems friggin useless now and pistol well that's just a bit of a drag but still our only hope.
Basically they have even more of an advantage now espeically when they join on a Uk server.
I don't know about the rest of you but we could dance around yanks all day before this update.
Oh and it also appears that if there is someone from across the pond in a UK server then it detects a decline in the connection speed and boots them, hmm I rather it just carry on and the host boot them (if ever) instead of disturbing the game and a possible chance everyone gets kicked...
Or is that just us not seeing it properly and it actually works differently?

I know I'm crap at GoW but not even a point blank shotgun would take ppl down yesterday n headshots with sniper were just a waste of time (ie not registering even if they were running straight at me). I think Snakes host/player connection theory must be there or there abouts correct. The only reason I played GoW was cos I got a free copy but I doubt I'll bother with online MP again tbh.
