In the last few days we have seen many signatures/avatars that divided the community. All of those signatures/avatars caused lengthy discussions that to this date are not resolved.

Whilst I personally do not believe that either of those signatures/avatars contained offensive material and I believe that several members caused bigger problems than necessary, we have decided to remove multiple signatures/avatars. Do not replace them with anything similar. If yours has been removed, you will have received a PM as well. You have been warned.

This is not the way I wanted this argument to go. Effectively signatures/avatars are a form of self expression and I do not like interfering with it, unless the images in question are in breach of the law, massively offensive or directed towards an individual [note: individual, not clan or group]. But after allowing this almost a week to settle itself it seems to have caused more and more problems and it wasted a lot of peoples time.

The right to have a signature/avatar is a privilege and should be treated as such. Repeated offensive signatures will now result in warnings and infractions which could lead to banning or in a removal of said privileges.

In addition may I remind everyone that we do not allow animated signatures/avatars of any kind and that the allowed size for signatures is 400x100.

Thank you.
