I'm a huge fan of Peter Kay and his down to earth style (and proberbly because he's a northerner :p) but i've watched his material to death, eg Pheonix Nights, Road to Nowhere, stand-up etc
Love Alan Partridge too, but i've squeezed it dry of quotes, haha.
So what kind of comedy do you guys watch? Who's material should i try out next?

Lee Evans, Ross Noble (the geordie one, not sure?).
Lee Evans for a definate, one of the funniest stand up comedians around. Sure you've seen him though.

Yea i've seen some Lee Evans. He's usually who the southerners go for rather than Peter Kay, hah.
What videos/skits should i try out first?

Lee Evans does FANTASTIC stand up, Wired + Wonderful at Wembley probably his best. As for Ross Noble, his best is probably Randomist.
Bill Bailey - Part Troll should have you laughing til you die. And Red Dwarf. And any Dave Spikey/Sean Lock material you can get hold of (8/10 Cats has them both :O) Actually, that reminds me. Get Jimmy Carr!
Oh, and there's a great Irish comedy weekend on Paramount for St. Patrick's day. Dara O'Briain, Andew Maxwell, Ed Byrne.. all the best Oirish comedians.
If all else fails...

I remember him explaining as to why we should always make sure we put up 2 fingers, and not just our middle finger as thats "what the yanks do", haha.

Moved this into Film and TV. :)
I love Peter Kay, he's done some brilliant stuff. Also a big fan of Ricky Cervais, Politics was great and I used to watch 'The Office' religiously. Little fact about the office: you know that they show Slough Trading Estate in the opening? Well, I used to work in the trading estate and the building they show the office to be at was literally round the corner, about 1 minute away from where I used to work. That's my claim to fame anyway!
Does anyone ever watch Live at the Apollo [or so] with Jack Dee [Not too great on names, I know]? That guy is brilliant.

he's one of the best imo, others see differently to me, my friends hate him, best quote EVER!
"IF WE DIDNT HAVE RULES, THEN WHERE WOULD WE BE ? THAT'S RIGHT FRANCE !!!"
kind of has a truth to i, dont it?

Yeah, Gervais is excellent, particularly Animals and Extras.
Jack Dee at The Apollo is where I discovered many of my favourite comedians. Ardal O'Hanlan, Dara O'Briain, Omid Djalili, just to name a few.

How could I forget Extras?! Brilliant show, absolutely love it. I'm quite surprised though jsut how many gueststars he managed to get: Samuel L Jackson, Gandalf, Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Ross and so on.
You should really watch this, if you haven't seen it yet, Pirate. Shame they only made 2 seasons.
The Apollo is just great, because it has the right mix of people nearly every time. Not that I know any of them generally, but it makes me laugh everytime.

Al Murray
Jack Dee are the two great standup comedians.
I recommend some Monty Python since you seem to have a weird sense of humour.

I couldn't get into extras I found it really just not funny in the slightest, Al Murray however is hilarious i'm "getting" his live DVD 'giving it both barrels' right now havn't seen it yet but can't wait!:D
Reece Witheh. Pure, unfiltered comedy. *clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap* WITHEH!

I'm sorry, but Red Dwarf is not funny. No way. Not the first 3 seasons I watched before giving up.
The Office is the funniest thing around, that's a fact. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't actually know what comedy is.
Other good things that if you don't like/haven't watched you should:
Extras, Peep Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Eddie Izzard Stand Up, Family Guy, South Park.
That's all the comedy you'll ever be needing.

**** yes on the Peep Show mate, i recently finished watching all 3 series'. I watched the Office at a mates house years ago, so i thought i would get a torrent for both series. It's stuck on 96% because nobody is seeding it. Mighty annoying.

'We stayed out of Vietnam for one good reason, we wanted our war films to remain cheerful'
'Britania, rules the waves, not anymore now were a nation of call centres, what happens when the next Hitler comes? put him on hold?
Al Murray the most funny patriot we have in Blighty, his comedy loves to casually offend the people in his audience ;)
Still were forgetting Jeremy Kyle, definatly the best thing on TV.

The last really good comedy program type thing I saw (and then bought) was Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Don't know if anyone else saw it, but it's great.

Jeremy Kyle? That show is just him being a glorified bully at people he does not even know. Im suprised its been alowed to carry on so long, especially with the ridiculous claim of bullying on that celeb big brother, but then jeremy kyle is praised as really good..

The black guy (sorry i dont know his name :o) is waaaay better/funner in this than he is in the IT Crowd.

Little Britain was hilarious for the first few time you watched it. After that it got old very quickly.
I don't watch very much stand up but a few that I remember were Al Murray, Ross Noble, Lee Evans, Chris Rock and Billy Connelly.
At the moment the funniest show to watch is Never mind the buzzcocks with Simon Amstell as the presenter.

I did like it when Mark was presenter but I never specifically turned on my tv to watch it where as I do for Simon.

As with most of BBC 3 comedy I find it unfunny.
I really can't understand all the hype. One, maybe two episodes were funny. After that it got boring.
Although a lot of my friends liked it at first, I'm pretty sure most of them ended up not watching most of the second series.
Definitely not anywhere near the Office. How people argued it was better than the Office, I'll never understand.

People actually compaired it to the Office!? The Office is on a whole other level of comedy and wit.
Is it just me, or has no one mentioned ChuckleVision!? Or does it just go without saying that it is the best show ever?

I wouldn't even go as far as saying one or two episodes, just a few scenes here or there. And agreed comedy on BBC 3 is almost all **** (except for Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps)

Al Murray's Happy Hour! You know the episode of that were he says that any nursey ryhme spoken by a German is instantly suspicious and not so innocent? Well, i just watched his stand up, "My Gaff, My Rules" and the EXACT SAME sketch is in it. I was kinda disapointed.
The rest was really good though, the guy is a total nutter.
