Worms could've been so much better

I played Worms: Armageddon ALOT on PS1. The best thing about Worms is the ridiculous weapons that some of the later (not shitty 3D) games had. Where the **** have they all gone?

I used to love walking up to a weapon/tool crate on Armageddon, knowing that there could be a really sweet, really rare weapon/tool in it. Seeing 'Holy Hand Grenade' or 'Mail Strike' come up at the top of the screen was the best thing ever, because it meant **** was about to get ****ed up in a big way.

Now I dont even bother walking up to crates because the best thing Im gonna get is a Banana Bomb. BBs are pretty good, but thats about the only fun weapon in this game. Worms without all the huge explosions isnt Worms in my book.

I really really really reeeeeeeally hope Ive just been unlucky and not found any of them, but Ive played through 10 of the 20 single player challenges, and every item Ive found has already been in my inventory screen.

Also, I read somewhere that there are 22 weapons in the game, and you have 22 spaces in your weapons list, including **** like 'prod' and 'skip turn'.

I am not best pleased.

It's classic worms, it may lack a few of those weapons but its still one of the best games on the Arcade.

And prod is one of the best weapons in the game, nothing more exciting than shoving your mate off a cliff into the water :D

Those weapons are what made Worms so good. Why would they take them all out of this game?

I hope they sort themselves out and give us some DL content. Free DL content. I feel ripped off by these wankers.

The only thing I can say to those who don't like it, they do provide a demo so its not as if you are buying blind. And theres enough info kicking about regarding the game anyway.

Sure theres stuff I would've liked to have seen in it, like the Holy Hand Grenade but I aint that bothered about it, there is plenty here to keep me going.

If I downloaded the demo first, I wouldve seen the piss poor selection of weapons and assumed that was all that was available in the demo. Then I wouldve been even more pissed off when I bought it.

Remember this game has been in certification since December so it would've been made long before the arcade size increase.

Go and play Armageddon or World Party, or even Worms 2. A million times better than Worms 1 and the **** theyve given us on 360.

If they give us DLC they should give us more than just weapons, the whole game stinks of half-arsedness. More backgrounds/themes, and a better landscape generator (ability to choose objects etc. - again, just look at Armageddon) to name two very obvious things.

Edit: Better game setup aswell.

Worms has a 'Content Download' on the main menu, so Im guessing they have some lined up. I might save my 400 points for that since theyll probably charge us for the other half of the game.

This game could have been so much better.
