Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to confirm full details of the next XL event at the moment...however there is a possibility that the next XL may take place over 3 days!
We aim to optimise the tournaments available to you and provide the best possible game settings and setups within the timescale available. As such we would like your feedback...would you like Halo2 FFA, 2v2 and 4v4 or would you prefer a day dedicated to freeplay?
All the feedback received from the 1st XL event has been taken onboard and we are doing our utmost to iron out all the minor problems and continue to bring you the best console LAN events in the UK and Europe.
Obviously a 3 day event will see a substantial increase in costs, and as such what would you feel to be an appropriate entrance fee for 3 days of your favourite LAN gaming on Xbox and Xbox 360?

A 3 day XL would be really good and i doubt a small price increase would put people off. It would mean a lot more time for each tournament (eg 2v2 which should be included). The only problem would be if it wasn't in the school holidays, loads of people would be unable to go if that was the case.

Yeah we wouldnt be talking about a 3 day event unless it was practical to do...so it would be Saturday to Monday with the 3rd day being either a school or bank holiday :cool:
Yeah 3 day XL sounds good as long as it was on a holiday.

Sounds good but the problem with doing on a Bank Holiday weekend would be the increase in costs for sleeping arrangements.
Obviously that wouldn't effect me as you have to do it in Birmingham or I won't go, but I'm sure there are other members you have to come from alot greater distances.

Bank Holiday = lack of transport. A major problem if like me you plan to travel a long distance to attend.
Here's an idea for the next XL, not too sure if many people will like it but here we go:
Instead of queing up in lines to get in could you order your team's tickets OR just your own get them delivered with the paper work etc then just hand it in at the door? obviously the person buying the tickets would pay for delivery aswell as the ticket.
Do you think this would save time?
Yeah, nice idea DayC. The queues last time were quite big, although last time, technically you did book previously although you still had to get your wristband thingy when you were there.

Mm. Being my first XL, I can't really comment on anything to improve or whatever from last time.
But really, cost is a bit of an issue, as is travel and accomodation and so on. 3 days would be awesome, as long as the cost wasn't a HUGE increase, but there are ways of getting around that ;).
But the real problem for me, is being able to get accomodation + transport, on a bank holiday or school holiday. That would really bump the prices up. However, saying that, any weekend during a school holidayis going to be busy and probably expensive anyway.. soo :cool:.
Still thumbs up for a three day. I guess jsut see how it pans out..
If you only could attend two, would the prices change? Or would it only be the priuces of the tournaments you wouldn't be able to be in that would change?

I think the third day should either be dedicated to another game or just freeplay not 2 vs 2, its a waste of time. Also freeplay should be monitored this time so that people dont stay on for like 5 games at a time.

That was damn annoying last time. People would stay on for ages and so one would notice. :eek: Don't know how much staff that would require! :eek: I'm always available though ;)

I think having XL over 3 days would be a good idea.
If the FFA and 4 v 4 are out of the way within the 1st 2 days then the last day could be dedicated to something unorthodox i.e. Team Skirmish tournament maybe even an 8 v 8 :confused:

8 v 8 would be OK is uppose, two teams could join to make one super team. Maps would have to be big though. At least there will be no lag :D

I was thinking more along the lines of 8 v 8 CTF Coagulation but what ever floats your boat lol
Small maps would be stupid. Bigger maps would be OK. Imagine trying to move on midship with 16 players, crazy! Maybe a 1v1 tournament too?

Just all remember, there isn't just Halo 2 at XL. There will also be 360 games. :)

lolz i was jokin, nah 1 v 1 wud take ages, we could have a standby tourney, where everyone brings their modems and see who is the best cheat
Just all remember, there isn't just Halo 2 at XL. There will also be 360 games. :)
Halo 3 will probably be out by the time the next XL comes around so i wouldn't worry...

sounds like a good idea if the last day was free play day i think that would be good.
