2k Games have finally announced a release date for their highly anticipated shooter BioShock. It will be released in August, or to be more precise on Tuesday, the 21st.

To all of you who lived under a rock for the past year and have never heard of it: BioShock is a First person shooter developed by Irrational Games who have previously developed SWAT 4 on the PC and published by 2k Games. BioShock is set in an underwater city which originally was created as an idealistic society for scientists, but has since turned into a town littered with genetically mutated citizens, powerful guardians and little girls.

Unlike many games these days, It is not set to feature any Xbox Live multiplayer modes, but there have already been rumours about downloadable content.

Are you excited by this game?

Nothing to be proud of.

If you know your game history you'd know that Irational games devoloped the Thief series on the PC, and also one of the best PC games of all time System Shock 2.......

Something to be proud of?

Ah, we're both right!

Looking Glass Studios developed both The Dark Project and The Metal Age. After the studio went out of business in 2000, many former employees moved to Ion Storm Austin and began developing the long-anticipated third part of the series, Deadly Shadows, which is believed to be the last in the series.
Eidos only published them, but never developed them.

That is good though, as Thief is an excellent series [prefer Deadly Shadows though which was developed by Ion Storm]. It's very good gameplay.
