UPDATE* 4v4 dates/info

The MatchBox360 Halo 2 4v4 competition will start Monday the 12th of March, more details will be released over the next few days so get your teams ready for what is bound to be an epic event :cool:

All incomplete will be removed by this Monday to free up spaces for any other 4v4 teams that wish to still sign up. We don't know how many spaces it will free up but that is down to the teams involved as unless they hurry up and sort there teams out they will be removed. Expect an announcement soon.

Antipop, Monday is really the only day u have to play as by Wednesday the loser brackets are being played. I'm really sorry all i can suggest is to register a sub for your team to take the place of a player u cant make Monday ?

Ugh, we might be able to get our fifth guy instead, but monday doesn't seem to fit them either. Aren't we allowed to play it on Tuesday evening then, if losers bracket games are on wednesday??

That will give them a work day to sort out the loser's brackets fixtures. They have to work you know they don't live on the site :rolleyes:

I suppose they could do it early evening all depends on how long they have to work for.

Ok. I'm just wondering why if there is 1 day of time to play the game can't it be like friday, saturday or sunday, but instead monday? It makes life for atleast us who live in the gmt+2 timezone sucky since the default time is 10pm on monday for us...

Let me give u a quick low down buddy. We have 32 teams playing and with have have a round played each Sunday and then have the same rounds lower brackets played by Wednesday so as to have the Fixtures for the next round done and up for the public to see and practice for by Thursday night (Friday latest) so having a game played on Monday screws me over bad enough let alone Tuesday.

I have work and sleep so that’s why my time is limited on MatchBox so that’s how it has to be.

Would you be able to make a thread completely defining the exact rules when it comes to when games have to be played and such.

At the moment, I am still comfused. Can you just lay itout really simple for me? :D

Every match must be played on monday at 8pm? And the results in by wednesday?

Then Loser Bracket matches played by sunday?

I thought it said in the rules that you had a week to play each round, and it was up to the teams to decide when, as long as the results were in by the end of that week?

Probably got that a lot wrong, but just need it clearing up. :)

Other than that we are planing to do Each round being played on a Sunday then the loser bracket being played from that round on the Wednesday. So for example Round 2 will be on Sunday then the loser bracket will be played on the Wednesday, then Round 3 will be again on the Sunday. I will ask our admin to update the front page with the who dates from start to finish of this competition for you all so check the front page after tomorrow for any more details.



Thsoe rules were put in place by a staff member who has just quit, i have taking the rains and there is no way on gods earth we could have a loser bracket if we allowed teams to arrange there own games. I dont have access to the front page (god i wish i did) i will make sure that point is taken out ASAP . Trust me.

EDIT: this is hopefully the last time I have to bother you, but I have seen on some threads that one team would choose & host 2 gametypes/maps and the other would host 1 map/gametype? OR do we all just play these 3 gametypes that you posted above:

your right there has been a lot of :confused: :confused: :confused: going on and i know the blame sits with me/MB so I'm happy to clear things up. We have Cat now realising a news article fro the front page with clear information on the dates for the 4v4 fixtures for each round.

Dates have been added to the Halo2 4v4 Portal Rules (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/rules?event=Halo+2+-+4v4+Knockout).

Unfortunately the original Halo2 4v4 rules have proved to be inadequate and very confusing for all concerned. Props to spindryer for sorting out the mess and good luck to all teams :cool:

Guys the 4v4 kicks off tonight !!! Wey hey let the fun begin hey :D

The default time to play is 8pm, if both teams want to play before this or after this time (no later than 12pm though) then that's fine , the results thread on MB is now open an d ready for you.

Any problems and god there will be then atm its just me as dedicated staff for this event although we have a few events staff taking part in the event and will be helping out as well.

When do we get the winners bracket round2 fixtures? I mean, can't u just give them now? So we could try and arrange a game for friday or saturday 'cos sunday isn't looking good :/

Right the next set of fixtures dates are set as:

Round 5: Wednesday 11th April
R5 Loser bracket: Wednesday 11th April

Now if you have not tried to re-arnage another day and time with the other team OR they didn't agree to it then you can report it as a no-show as long as you were there at the default time of 8pm this evening and then some or all there team didnt show up by 8:30pm. IF the deafult time was not good for both teams and you BOTH agreed to find a different time and day then seeing as a heck of a lot of results haven't come in yet im going to have to give u more time. atm you have till next Sunday to have the results in and i mean by that as the results posted up on MB in the results thread by 9pm.

I know its TSG this weekend so that's why we postponed the fixtures a week, please get you games played and any results that have been submit will stand and any that are not in by 9pm Sunday[08/04/07] will result in BOTH teams being chuck out of the competition.
