With the huge amount of anime floating about the net sometimes it's hard to find what you want, and I know I'm always on the look out for new anime and it seems a lot of you are only recently getting into it. So that's what this thread will be for, aswell as links. Here's a few I advise you to watch:
Full Metal Alchemist - on par with bleach, or better, I reckon. (there's a movie that follows the series aswell.) 51 eps long
Gunslinger Girl - bunch of 12 year old girls assasinating people, what more can you want. (apart from more, it's only 13 eps long)
Cowboy Bebop - old school, it's what they would call a "must see" in the world of anime. The film is good too. 26 eps long
Welcome to the NHK - about some dude who stays in his room all day, sounds boring, but trust me- watch it. 24 episodes long i think
Ghost in the Shell SAC - Not very far in this one, but it's good so far (doesn't seem as good as the films tho)
Karas - Some of the best animation i've ever seen. Not hard to find it on stage 6.
Afro Samurai - brutal animation, shite story, Samuel L Jackson, what more do ya need to know? 5 eps, stage6
http://www.stage6.com - Like a high definition youtube, always check here first
http://www.anime-eden.com/ - Has a **** loada stuff for direct-download, plus OVAs, films, sound tracks etc. Can be slow, and you have to register.
http://www.muffindomain.com/index.php?page=anime.html - Get your Gunslinger Girl, Full Metal Alchemist, and Ghost in the Shell here (DD)
http://realitylapse.com/ - no bullshit, direct downloads
Other than Youtube and Stage 6, these are pretty much the only sites I've needed.
Note: Do yourselves a favor and for gods sakes don't watch the dubbed versions.

It does sound quite boring to be fair. PLease tell me it's not 24 episodes of him just sitting there doing nothing?
I remember watching some Cowboy Bebop ages ago and it wasn't too bad.

nah, he basically just sits indoors watching anime all day, and some girl tries to make him stop bein an unsocial pussy, it starts off quite light hearted but it gets much darker, deals with suicide and such

'scuse the double post.
Afro Samurai (http://stage6.divx.com/AFRO_SAMURAI/show_video/1101528) - ****ing Samuel L Jackson voices the main character, what more do ya need to know, ha ha, watch it. Only 5 episodes long
Hey do you know where I can find FMA after episode 20? (the links at Muffin thingy stop working at 20 :( )

http://realitylapse.com/videos/fullalchem.php full metal alchemist is on here. I have an account at anime-direct.com so I get a fair bit of stuff there, it's fast but you have to pay, and there are other ways to get pretty much everything (google/torrent) so it's not necessary. Samurai Shamploo is on my list of things to try, is it any good? assuming by 'checking it out' you mean watching it
Wow, FMA was amazing thanks for reccomending it. Um I don't suppose you'd know where I could find a torrent of the film since google is giving me just a ton of dead torrents :(

aye it's good. http://www.anime-eden.com/page/anime/fullmetalalchemist/series.html, you have to register, and it might be slow, but it's there
Sorry for pestering you again, but the file has neither subs nor is it dubbed :( um do you know where I could get the subtitle file for it?
zcaliber

It does have subs. Watch it in VLC Player, then click video/subtitles/english
thanks it was my first time using VLC and din't know I had to turn subs on. The movie was quite good though.

As a film it's ****, but if you just think of it as an OVA following the series, bringing things conclusion, it's good.
edit: bringing things *to* conclusion, can't ruin my excellent grammar and spelling reputation eh
Yeah I agree with that. The whole story about nazi magic robots was a bit crap.

theres quite a lot of anime on here tv-links (http://www.tv-links.co.uk/index.do/3)
ive been watching bleach on it recently, seen about 3 episodes, seems quite good so far. its about sort of ghosts who only certain people can see from what i can gather, the main charicter goes out of his body (think prey) to fight them and defend the genral population.
im torrenting an anime called elfen lied at the moment, thats about a race of mutants that are the next evolutary step, they have telekinetic powers that are shown by invisible hands that they use to tear people apart, deflect bullets & turn things like pens into projectiles.
i also watch cowboy bebop (awesome ^_^) ive got the movie & series in english/japanise dual audio and the lipsync has been redone for the english.

I advise you to watch:
Real people
As I have no idea what's so attractive about dramatic Japanese cartoons about magic.

So instead of coming into this thread asking for someone to explain to you why anime are different, you decided to come in here ridiculing people? Well done....

I was actually curious about why people like anime, I didn't come in to this topic to troll. With the above post, I expected someone to sigh, and explain to me why it's so interesting. So I'm sorry I didn't use a question mark.
What makes anime interesting?

Well if Jade Goody does it for you then be my guest and watch it.
Myself I would rather see anime for decent storylines and general coolness.

Anime and CGI is the same concept Dinny you tard, but I'm sure you'd never watch films that aren't real. Let alone play computer games. Stick with David Attenborough.
Recommendation: Eureka Seven
What I thought about this Anime:  ...Amazing.
Definate must see!! :D

i saw that seris when i was about 10  but i'd totally forgotten the name of it. i rember if being amazing.
a quick google search yields that their still selling it from the official site linkage (http://www.advfilms.com/CatalogFilms_Volumes.asp?ID=2084) but the prices are in dollars so its probably not be region 2 dvds. you could always buy a second cheap dvd drive if your desperate though :)

What an excellent answer to my question. Thank you. Thank you sooooo much. Next time I'm nearby, I'll drop by your mum's basement and buy you a bottle of wine for your troubles.

Don't worry it's cool man, I own bad kids like you all the time. Have the wine yourself and keep it white, as the Pub Landlord once said, Lager for the gentlemen, a glass of white wine for the Ladies.

For the worst type of kid. I can use something else if you prefer, Annoying Kid? Annoying Children? That's totally different, though i felt it's been slightly overused by myself lately. People who are unworthy of being described as anything more inspired than 'bad kid', simply get called 'bad kid'. It's not easy being a forum administrator...

Signed.
Why come into an anime thread and then say "Go watch real people"?
Caliber's point stands as it is, I bet you watched and enjoyd Toy story, Jurassic Park, Spiderman and all the other artificially augmented films. I also bet you play sports games on your console whereas you should go outside and "play real sports".
I would lay off talking about bottles of wine and basements as well until you are
A) Old enough to get served.
B) Aware of the hypocrisy when writing things like Gah, I'm so bored without XBL.
