If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Nintendo themselves are always going to make games with their trademark characters, this doesn't mean they're not new games does it? Super Mario Galaxy, for example, will have the Mario formula, sure, but it's a completely different setting. Space. In addition, the Wiimote basically opens up a plethora of portals for innovative ideas - Metroid Prime, Mario, Zelda, will all be controlled differently due to the different nature of the Wiimote.

And Sonic just got reviewed at Gamespot, they gave it a 7.6, which is much better than the horrid offering on the 360.

I'm sorry, but what? Changing the controller allows you to change the game. I really don't think there's much argument for bringing out the same games again and again each time nintendo bring out a new platform they have new franchises for it or completely reshape their old ones. See Pikmin, Nintendogs, Mario 64 etc. I really have no idea what you are talking about. Well other than Mario Party.

The Wiimote allows you to change the way these francises are played and it helps Nintendo create weird and wonderful new IP's like Wii music which just looks freaking cool.
