Yeah, that was the correct settings, the weapons on map were meant to be Human only - so thee are pistols, shotguns and SMG's around - but the primary weapon is the Battle Rifle, BR.

We can't be responsible for no-shows and we tried our best to find replacements and bring them into groups to ensure that rounds remain competitive. This is always a problem with our online events - we can organise as best we can, but we cannot ensure players will show up for their events.

So I'm sorry to hear this Turtle, but it simply can't be helped, as much as we would like to.

No worries, I have mentioned there’s nothing you can do, and I accept that. These no-show’s seriously waste yours and our time, and I hope they’re banned from entering future comps.

Still, as I said, I didnt know whether we were playing or not, especially seeing as our room was full of people that werent on the orignal list. Were they standby’s? If they werent this was very unfair, and the match should be replayed again, at the time selected and not 40 mins after the allocated time slot. At least that way we will all know were actually playing for real.

Look I’m not the type to go on about it, but it was all very unfair, and very confusing to a point I wasn’t sure if it was the comp or not. Even the guy who’s posted the result up has mentioned he didnt know who the other’s were. It didnt feel like our comp game, as it just happened after 40 mins of waiting around.

I know its not Matchbox’s fault, but this situation certainly needs to be looked at, as it all feels very unfair and confusing, and I wish it’d gone smoother so I’d actually know I’ve put in my best shot in the comp game.

I also dont think its any fault of the other 2 guys that turned up either as at least they were reliable.

TURTLE ZED i know MatchBox went down last night but you could of added my GT or Tugsy and then you could of got hold of us that way. I agree that it was a bit of a scramble as so many groups had no-shows and i am already thinking about not entering any other event and staff it at the same time as i my self couldn’t play to my best as i was spending half my game sorting other players out with messages etc...

With the stand in issue we did ask the groups that didn’t have enough players to fill the gaps with friends as long as there were UK or European based and they were registered to MB. As far as im aware your game looks legit but i will ask the other players in group to make sure.

Problem with that is, I’m very new to enterering comps at Matchbox360, so I’m afraid I wouldnt even know that you and Tugsy were admin. The only admins I’ve heard of are Konspiracy and the other one beginning with C, so at no point would I have thought, hey I’ll contact Tugsy.

I have no clue who the other guys in our game were, so in my opinion the game should be void. But to be honest, I dont want to be caught up in a issue like this. It was unfair, confusing, and maybe a void game depending on who the other guys were. If they werent guys from the stand-by list then the game is definately void. Personally I just wanted to bring it to the attention of you guys as it was a total farce, not to whinge at anyone here, but just to state facts.

To be honest, I wasted enough time last night, so I’m done with it, and I know you lot do your best, but I certainly dont want to be caught up in the middle of an issue here. I’m just an innocent gamer who wanted to be part of Halo comp, not to sit around for 40 mins, wonder whether we are playing and who I’m playing, and I’ve made my point so thats enough from me on this.

I’ll look back to see what occurrs from this, but I expect that the end of the comp for me, which is absoltely fine, as I was probably out of my depth anyway.

I do agree that the forums don’t show very well who is staff and who is not to new guest to MatchBox but it was stated on the Rules page who to the events staff are for this FFA (HERE (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/rules?event=Halo+2+-+FFA))

I'm still trying to look into your group but atm its hard as most of them aren’t online to speak to. I will chase it up tonight and make sure all the players who played in that game were European based.

I don't know what the rules are but if you don't already, you really should ban the no-shows from competing again, no questions asked.

Personally as well, it does seem a little unfair if people can invite friends in if there are no-show’s. I mean, to state the obvious, if I was in the situation again I’d be over the moon to invite a few friends into a room that I’m in, hey controversial but they could even give me a little help if you get what I mean.

A competition between unknown people is an equal playing field, and if people dont turn up, then you should turn to the reserves, if no reserves are available, then either an automatic qualification to the next round, or some other competition members could come in to make the numbers up, and not friends off peoples friends list.

Its funny you mention that friends could be invited, because in our room, all of a sudden about 8-10 people just joined and they did all seem to know each other. I felt very out-numbered last night, and didnt really know what was going on. All very strange.

But there you go, thats it, its done now, so lets leave it, nothing can change now, just one of them things, shame though.

You have said this on every post so far, and i can tell that you very much DO care and that’s a good thing, all i can ask u is to leave it with me and give some time to sort what happened in your group. I have made a new thread on here (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=1031)asking for people in that group to come forward and speak to me on MSN to sort out what happened. I have also asked the same thing over at H3F (http://www.halo3forum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2702)'s to cover a wider range of players from the FFA comp.

With filling the no-shows situation i still believe we made the right choice as there were quite a few groups that were down to even 3 like yours and that would of made for a very boring FFA . Again leave it with me and I’ll try and sort out what happened and if those players positions will stand.

Add my MSN (jimmy79er@hotmail.com)if you want to talk anymore about Group H and what happened.

Thanks for your help, but I’m really not hoping for a witch hunt here or indicating foul play nor hoping for an investigation so I can get back into the comp. I did care last night, today I don‘t, but I think its my duty to let you guys know my thoughts on a very strange night indeed to help with future comps. At the end of the day, your comp’s can only improve with feedback and ideas and of course reliable players.

And if the rules stated that friends could be invited, then them’s the rules. But thats one of the strangest rules I’ve heard of. Sounds to me like a few groups had missing players - my first thought would of been to mix these groups into larger groups, then we have all competition players in together and not peoples friends which could be biassed

Seriously, as mentioned I think possibly I may have been out of my depth anyway, so I have no qualms with the result, and I’ll look forward to entering a new comp in the future depending on whether the friends invite rule still stands or not.

Cheers guys.

I think I speak for all when I say that we very much appreciate yours and anyone elses feedback.

As far as I'm aware there was a considerable amount of no shows which may have contributed to other people joining the game.

As I've said, please do keep your comments and any feedback coming. :)
